Some pics from my trip

yes, please tell us of your trip, especially Tasmania.

What cities did you visit, the people etc.

I've been very curious about that island for as long as i can remember.

Very cool. Can you tell us a little more about the trip?

Sure, anything specific you would like to know? I just took a couple weeks after I graduated college to fly around the south pacific. Took nothing but a carry on bag and did some driving around Moorea, and Tasmania. Spend a few days in Sydney and Auckland and did a tour in New Zealand because I didn't have much time. Cost was about 2k for all the flights, and probably about another 2k of spending money for cars, hotels, and hostels.

Awesome! I love #1 and #2. Where in NZ were you? I've lived in the North Island my whole life and never saw those cliffs :Q

Is the first Tassie pic from Port Arthur? Tasmania was brilliant ... if I were to move down under, I think I'd seriously consider it 🙂

The cliffs were in Tassie, elephant. The pictures for each location should be below the text. I was near Rotorua and Auckland in New Zealand (didn't have anymore time or money for the south island).

Nope, didn't stay overwater GT, too expensive. I stayed in Tahiti where it was cheaper and just took the plane over to Moorea.

Are those huts only found in that one location or throughout the island on the coast? Did you catch a name or web site for the place?

Nope, there's also the Sheraton, IC Resort, and others along the coast. I visited a few of them and they were amazing. The one in the picture is the Sofitel Moorea Beach Resort http://www.sofitel.com/sofitel...0566/fiche_hotel.shtml. Just google for the Intercontinental Moorea and the Sheraton Moorea for the sites of the others. Expect to pay about 650 to 800 per night for those overwater units though.

I have two questions.

How was the weather, and was it worth the $4K?

Rained the first morning in Tahiti, but other than that, it was great. Definitely worth the 4k. Traveling is my foremost hobby, and with this trip I've now visited 21 countries since high school (I'm 22).

Nice. I too am often sick with Wanderlust.

What 21 have you been to?

Edit: But I know that coming home can be sooooo depressing.

Including home (US) my list looks like this:

1. United States
2. Canada
3. The Bahamas
4. England
5. Scotland
6. Norway
7. Holland
8. Luxembourg
9. Germany
10. Italy
11. Holy See (Vatican City)
12. France
13. Monaco
14. Switzerland
15. Austria
16. Belgium
17. Denmark
18. Iceland
19. French Polynesia
20. Australia
21. New Zealand

As you can tell, I really like Europe. But, it's time to head to other continents now. Asia, or South America + Antarctica combination, is next.

If you had to pick just one?

Are you a university student?

Probably Switzerland, that I've been to. I love the alpine scenery. And one that I'd like to visit, would be Japan.

I was a university student, graduated on May 18th.

What's next for you in life and how do you plan your future to maintain plenty of time and money to feed your wanderlust?

Nice pics of Moorea. Moorea is one of my top two French Polynesia islands. Very lush and beautiful. I hope you had a chance to make it up to Cook's Bay and Oponohu Bay... fantastic lookout points.

sweet. one day, i'm gonna stay at one of those over the water huts.

And I have no doubt you'll get there...but $800-$1200/night is a bit steep unless you're talking honey moon.

Bah right I misread. I thought that mud pool looked Rotorua-ish 🙂 I grew up in Rotorua, I'm sure it's a much more interesting place to visit than to live. I recently moved to the South Island for university and I would definitely recommend that tourists visit the South rather than North.
