Hell I am so pissed off with this person who I bought my VoodooMac 4500 PCI from
A german.
I paid US$275.00 in total to get this,
and see how he treated my card!!!

F**KING A**HOLE with no common sense!!
I told him particularly to treat the item properly and have proper protection for it.
He did exactly the opposite!

stupid ass, this guy has close to 40 feedbacks and he doesn't know how to ship an item in a box.
I'm from a third world country and at least I know that is totally absurd.

that is an extremely rare card,

there was one before that sold for about US$400
its a European VoodooMac 4500 PCI
that has DVI output
 
card is fine, no FCC certificate, but manuals and drivers included,
see.. the thing is, I am a 3dfx collector,
the box means alot to me.
I didn't pay so much just to get a moron who doesn't know how to ship an item.
 
Heh, when my old Acoustic Edge died on me, Philips shipped my RMA replacement from the factory EXACTLY the same way. The packing sticker was stuck on the flimsy plastic that was shrink wrapped around the retail box. It was in tatters by the time I finally got it and I was lucky it even came to me. I don't buy Philips any more :roll:

The only other dumba** packing job I've seen is this one idiot who sent a DIMM stick in a plain white letter envelope. Needless to say, that one was DOA.
 
Did the guy know that you wanted the BOX to arrive in pristine condition as well as the card? If you weren't explicit about being a collector and wanting both the box and card to look like new then I'd say he held up his end of the bargain as long as the card works as advertised.

 
I agree with Creig. The savings in shipping could have been signficant versus double boxing and who would have guessed anyone would place value on the box, let alone the card which couldn't be given away to actual users. I suppose it depends upon how the item was described in the auction, particularly the inclusion and condition of the box. It should be discussed with the seller before even considering leaving feedback.

Yes I notified him twice, i told him it is a collector's item,
please take care of the box and place it into another box to protect its condition.
sigh,

I paid $15.00 for shipping from PA to MI,
does he have to save so much?
 
Well if you guys look at his sig you'll see that he does collect 3dfx stuff... so the box did matter. Unfortunately, the shipper probably only cared if the card arrived in working condition or not. 🙁
 
plus it was just UPS Ground. He probably just paid 8 dollars including handling.

fact is , I did remind him twice about protecting the box, and also... on ebay before I won it,
I was having a short conversation with him, tempting him to sell it off without auction method because I have been waiting more then 2 years for it.

He said, no he wants to be fair to everyone. so he obviously knows that I do collect.
so does he deserve a negative or neutral?

i am thinking of a possibility of neutral because he did send the item.
of course the box is in a mess now.. but everything else is in good condition. Missing the FCC certificate.But thats no biggie
 
What a dick. It's like not packaging a Baseball card right. Its still there, you can see the picture, but it is worth nothing if it is bent. I hear where your coming from. I had a pair of hockey gloves shipped in what felt like tissue paper once.
 
i was so angry, I actually sent him like 5 emails with pictures attached of the condition that it arrived.
still awaiting reply.

Bleh, I bought a card only Ti4400 recently and the guy even put it in his 5700U box and double boxed that to ship it to me.

I don't think there's any excuse to ship even a non-collector's graphics card like that... way to advertise to anyone and everyone who may be looking to steal it.

I can understand your frustration. As a collector you want all contents, especially the box to be in excellent condition. That is at least the condition it?s currently in. I could only guess this person disguised the damage to the box as poor shipping when in fact this was the condition of the box prior to shipping. If he would have packaged it a box (even half assed), I?m sure it wouldn?t of came out that bad.

So to answer your question I would first need to know if this item was in better condition prior to the shipment. If so, then this guy deserves nothing but a NEGATIVE. If you can?t confirm the condition then I?d give a NUTERAL. Either way explain yourself in the comments when you post.

I remember looking at this card when it came out and thought, who will need two DVI connections. Now a lot more cards come with DVI.

I like your collection. I?d be interested in know how much $$ you?ve invested in your collection. If you don?t want it public you can always PM me.

Wow, I'm out of the loop. People "collect" old video cards???

Anyway, if you were explicit in how you wanted the card and box shipped, I would demand my money back if it is that important to you. If not, give him negative feedback. He HAD to know that it was a collectible to go for that price. Screw him. GP

Did you ask the "german" for pictures of the box before he shipped? Or did you take his word for it
that the box was in good condition. You never know, to him, that box might have been in excellent condition even though others do not. If your an accomplished collector of anything, you need to know EVERYTHING about what you are buying. How it looks, sounds, tastes (yeechchh), smells and the whole ball of wax. If you saw a picture of this box before shipping, and it looked like this, would you have still purchased it? I wonder.

 
Heh, when the seller was described as "a german", 'twas assumed it shipped from Germany not Pennsylvania! Prolly not much saving then and $15 certainly would have exceeded the UPS fee plus a modest handling charge. How about a link to the auction item just for laughs? I agree, collecting anything is queer. I don't want to say borderline mental disorder... but wait I just did (no offense lol). Seriously though, Hummel figurines and novelty spoons are bad enough but why the otherwise unusable junk from just another failed PC parts company? I could understand if there was some interesting detail about the parts that had a story or reflected the personality of the designers like those found at the Silicon Zoo... but there ain't. What's that axiom aboot possessions pwning you? 😉
