What a moron...

the whole "My daddy's going to be pissed when he gets home thing" pretty much sums up the whole story.

Any movie with Kid Rock in it I am NOT watching:) I will agree with you that it will have the same effect that The Fast and the Furious did.

No kidding. I saw a trailer for that the other day and all I could think about was how many more squids we're going to have around metro Atlanta thanks to that stupid movie. Thank god they have a tendency to off themselves pretty regularly. I watched a guy eat it on I-20 the other day doing a standup wheelie at about 70mph.....can't say I felt a lot of pity for him.

At least one good thing about freezing cold weather and snow is that it keeps the "BikEr Stunnaz!" to a minimum for half the year.

*gasp* Are you psychic!!? :Q

No, of course he wasn't....he had on the standard-issue sneakers/jeans/warm-up jacket squid uniform and he'll have the scars to prove it assuming he even survived.

That was funny. I'm actually thinking about selling my Duc and getting an R6. They're pretty sweet.

This was my favorite part of that thread:

95% of all harleys made are still on the road..the other 5% made it home.

heh.

I used to live in Corpus Christi, Texas (right on the Gulf of Mexico) and there was an incident where a crotch-rocketeer decided it would be a good idea to run from the cops. Well, he ended up laying his bike down. He of course was not wearing leather and tore his legs up a good bit. Well, he figured he could get away from the cops by running out into the water and swimming away....the SALTwater. The cops ended dragging his screaming butt back and arresting him on multiple charges. Unfortunately, stupidity is not a felony.

You might want to see if you can throw a leg over one before making a purchase. You may really miss your Duc's midrange out on the road. R6's are sweet bikes, but you have to rev the snot out of them to make any reasonable torque making for a "busier" street riding experience than the use-one-or-two-gears-and-let-the-torque-do-the-rest experience of a big twin. JMHO.

A nice compromise would be something like a Tri Speed Triple or Daytona BTW, lots of midrange but much "revvier" than a Duc.

Hey Johnlee.. long time no see.. we got to go riding sometime .. we have been planning that for ages.

Anyway I have nothing else to comment on.. Squids are natures way of population management, everytime we have too many people on this planet a squid is born.

Have you lived in Atlanta long enough to remember the squid-boy who died on the connector about 5-6 years ago. He was hauling ass down Freedom Parkway with some buddies headed for the southbound connector. If you've driven this bit of road, you'll know that it goes up and over 75/85 in a sweeping turn to the left before merging into the interstate. This dumbass apparently got into this corner too hot, tried to hit the brakes, stood the bike up (bike of course stops turning if you do this), hit the outside retaining wall, flew over the retaining wall and fell ~three stories down to the northbound lanes where he was struck by "multiple vehicles". They had a great photo in the AJC of his mangled bike along the edge of the retaining wall and a few of his buddies looking over the wall down to the highway. Dumbass. :|

Yeah, but their idiocy jacks up insurance rates and reinforces the public sentiment that all sportbike riders are idiots for the rest of us.

True.. but that incrase will be temporary.. after a while when the "biker boyz" effect has disappeared the insurance should drop back to normal.. after all there will be a percentage of riders at all times who are going to be squids.. that wont change unless if you have a catalyst.. in this case a movie.

I wasn't referring to any increase related to new riders inspired by the movie, I was talking about all the f*cktards that are already out there. It's completely insane that a 32 year-old with a completely clean record and 7 years of riding experience such as myself gets such outrageous quotes for something like an R1 or other literbikes because of these a-holes throwing their bikes down the road every 5 minutes.

Well at all times the # of retards out there is constant.. but with a catalyst the number increases and so will our insurance..

I know for a liter bike the price will really shoot up (actually 600cc and up it will shoot up). I cant say I will be safe with a 500cc bike but still I will see an increase.. not this year (I am fully paid up) but next year for sure.

I hope when I do go to a 600cc bike I dont have to pay thru my nose for insurance.. so I understand your concern as a safe rider.

Only thing i can suggest is shop around for insurance. Price varies....

Hmmm, thanks for the info.

My SuperSport is the toughest thing I've ever ridden (GSXR1100, Katana 600, Suzuki1000 (standard), Yamaha750 (standard), Honda400cmt (whatta bike!-standard). On the street, under 40mph it bucks like a bronco. I knew they did, just didn't know to what extent. Screaming onto the freeway onramp, however, there's nothing like it (at least compared to what I've ridden) Helluv expensive too. Everytime I roll it into ProItalia..cha-ching!:)

Ironically, the mail chick just came around and I just got my new Cycle World....mmmmm..Aprilia....

TGG-let's pick one of those beautiful days after a rain (not wet) and ride around Glendale College..mmm...Armenian chicks

It's completely insane that a 32 year-old with a completely clean record and 7 years of riding experience such as myself

Amen to that, brother.

Varies by manufacturer as well. Triumphs have an older following for the most part (read: more mature, experienced and less likely to crash) so you can get great deals on most of their bikes if you shop around a bit. I was only paying $350/year for full coverage for my Daytona. :D
