Tonight we are going to play pool. Four of us are going, a good number. This way we can play double games or get a tournament going. Four is a good solid pool number. We made these plans thursday night/Friday. So they weren't like a week ahead in advance.
Just a few minutes ago one of my friends who is going said he can't. All right, its cool, why? Well he is off to see some movie with his girl. Now danmit, he said he could go, and thus making the proper ammount of people who are going. Now normaly its cool. We dont mind so much if one goes out with his girl. But to back down when you had said you could go? We stopped inviting people because he completed the four! Thats just wrong. He better come back a father or live "The Dream" cause danm. Although it is first offense so Ill give it to him....

1. It's rude to cancel at the last minute whether a female was involved or not

On the other hand...

sex...pool... sex...pool... which would you rather have a night of?

Yer friend was rude by changing plans at the last minute, but it looks like he had a good reason. Assuming this isn't habitual I don't see the problem.

Any man who doesn't agree with this... just isn't a man.

i agree. what happened to illusion happens to me every week. and to make it worse, my friends see the same girl every day for 5 straight years, and still rather put the girl in front of a 13-year friendship.

*btw, it was my one of my best friends last night before he left for alaska for a year, and 1 of my other best friends flaked last minute to go see a play with his girl and her parents. he wasnt even gunna get any and he flaked!!

Jeez, some of you boys treat having a g/f like a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
I could only justify blowing off plans that late if, and only if, the guy's g/f was coming in from out of town. But damn, why couldn't they go see a movie the next day? Or later that night?

The guy is *ussy whipped, no doubt about it, and a prick for ruining your plans. Also the girl needs to learn that she can't monopolize her guy's time like that.

yeah. Just to let you guys know, he didn't and still aint getting any from this girl. Now I did get the privilage of meeting her and she is one hell of a pick. But still. A man should not be breaking off a prior engagment to be fulfilling his Girls every whim.

EDIT: Why did we bring up this thread anyways?

ding ding ding..... No more calls , please . We have a winner! :D
It is ALWAYS ok to cancel ANY guy friend date to go out with a gal. With the possible exception of fishing. Then you damn well better drag your @ss to the boat!

Even at the last minute? Hell if we were at a club and he picked up some chick then sure take her off and attempt to get laid. But dude, this is his girlfriend. Mabye I like my relationships a little more casual but really guys. He sees her everyday, takes her out every week, is going to a movie with her that important? He wasn't getting tail and he probally ended up watching the movie. There was no need for him to do this.

Like my girlfriend right now, I do not spend my waking life with her. I do not see her everyday. I see her probally about 5 days out of the week. I like it this way. My last relationship ended cause I spent the majority of my time with her. She would come and hang out with my friends and what not. At school we would always be together. It was fun but it friggin killed the relationship.

Really the simple answer was to go to the movie and then meet you guys for the "Pack Meeting". But hey, I just want everyone to be happy, so I usually try to pack too much into an evening, anyway. Now, I'm more apt to go with the flow. I acknowledge it does leave you guys in the lurch, but again I say "when the GF calls, I'm outta here". It's all about The Primal Directive
Take heart knowing she had the movie all picked out already....

So you get a whole 2 days to yourself? I would consider 5 out of 7 days spending the majority of your time with this one too.
