Amazing, years ago that story would have just ticked me right off, now after having a son, it just brings tears to my eyes. The innocent are never safe.... :(

<< Please stop exaggerating... Has that guy killed those kids? Nope.

Maybe those kids will have some nightmares once they get older, but I think that demanding that this guy must be executed because he 'touched them' is ridiculous.

The devastating effects of being a victim of molestation and rape go far beyond "some nightmares." Far, far beyond. You obviously have been blessed Elledan, not to have been some pervert's victim, and I'm really, really glad for you. You have absolutely no idea how truly awful it is and I pray that you never are in the position of having a child who is molested either.

For some victims, what happened to them truly is a death sentence, handed down the moment they were violated - you can argue all you like about how they should snap out of it, it's not so bad...until you've been there, you just have no idea. I do.

This piece of slime deserves far worse than he'll get, I can assure you.

When I read articles like this, I could almost pull the switch myself. I don't understand how you could ever look at a child in that way, and never consider the damage you are inflicting on them for the rest of their lives.

Please stop exaggerating... Has that guy killed those kids? Nope.

Maybe those kids will have some nightmares once they get older, but I think that demanding that this guy must be executed because he 'touched them' is ridiculous.

How shocking a statement like that is coming from you. Do you have compassion for any living creature besides yourself?

wanna know whats sick? some of these perverts dont understand what they are doing is wrong, they honestly believe they love children and compare their "repression" to homosexuality.

its amazing what websites you can come across on the internet, these "support" groups are everywhere.

on how i know: someone on another board posted links wanting to know wtf was wrong with people like that.

i dont believe in the death penalty, but if i did he would be the first to go okay second after paul bernardo.

Why does someone do such a thing? Why does someone feel the need to 'use' young children for those purposes?

Dr. Drew says these guys have been molested or abused themselves growing up. Then it has increased potential of cycling from generation to generation. God, I just hope these kids don't start a cycle of their own now.

He looks pretty normal to me. I wouldn't suspect someone who looks like that.

Some 500 tapes and a personal computer were confiscated.

He does deserve the death penalty and we all need to look at the death penalty as a form of self defense for our society. This guy is a constant danger to those around him and he is a time bomb waiting to go off. He is a potential threat every second he is alive. Even if he is just locked up forever he could escape and hurt more people. Or he could hurt the guards at prison.

Maybe you should think before you attack anything which is 'shocking' in your eyes.

This guy has done this deed. I don't approve it, but what can you change about it? Nothing, nada. Will it help if you kill this guy? Will it help those abused children overcome their 'mental problems'?
(I know that they'll experience those, and I know that it won't be easy for them, but one thing everyone here seems to underestimate is the ability of the mind to overcome hardships and handle them quickly and dismiss them. There's no need for them to 'suffer' from it for the rest of their lives)

This guy can't handle desires so he's weak. Unfortunately there are thousands more like him. You seriously want to kill them all?

Optimus: I knew you would attack me for making that statement, but be asured that I didn't mean all of it. I just got tired of all those people always yelling how Evil such a guy is and that he should be put to death in some cruel way or being tortured to death.

That's even more wrong than what this guy did. Ever heard of the term 'civilized'? I don't think that we should just kill everyone who 'does something wrong'.

Actually, you'll need to ask his victims if it would help him or not. Guess what? I'm still at the stage where I'd like my abuser to be put in the electric chair. It's a subjective thing, and unless it's you, you can't say what they would or would not want. And yes - it would have helped me with my "mental problems" (your words, not mine) if he had been punished severely - maybe even killed - I don't know because it didn't and won't happen for me. Maybe if it had it would have validated that what he did was an abomination against me, against God even. It is so damn wrong for an adult to violate a child in this manner, it goes so much deeper than just someone who can't control his desires. This is NOT about desire or urges, it's about power and control.

That said, no, I don't think everyone who does something wrong should be tortured and killed, and I don't know enough about this particular situation to know if this thing should be given the death penalty. But if he is guilty, then it is my right to say I think he should be tortured and killed, just as it's your right to say that what he did wasn't that bad.

Did you know that 1 in 4 people will be abused or molested by the time they are adults? Anandtech has how many members? 44,000 approximately? That means there are about 10,000 people here who have been in this situation. It is painful when we hear someone say we should "get over it" and "overcome hardships and handle them quickly and dismiss them." It's not that easy. Ever. And if it is, then they haven't really dealt with it. Again, I'm an expert here, which I hope you never have to be.

Elledan,

You're ABSOLUTELY CORRECT!! What we should do is set him free. All he did was acknowledge his desires. We're all human. Frankly, I think he should go back to working with kids. He knows he did something wrong...I mean he's a human being right?

Just so that we can prove he's learned his lesson, let's have him babysit your kids as an example that he's changed, mmmkay?

Capital Punishment maybe wrong...but this guy...whoa baby...capital punishment's too good for him.

To say that vermin like this guy should not be executed is to be worse than they are. He may be mentally defective, but it is wrong for him to exist. The wish to preserve such toxic humans is as perverse as their pedophilia, and is displayed by people who should know better. To say he should live is effectively identical to endorsing his conduct.

"We're shutting down your engines, kids. Although there have been some thoughtful remarks in this thread, there have been far too many cocky, sneering posts praising an illegal, stupid, and potentially fatal activity.

he'll get his in jail...even inmates have some honor. he'll probably get killed in the first few weeks he's in there. according to a buddy of mine who was in the county jail here in L.A., inmates hate petaphiles. (spelling??)
