I was pulling out of my parking lot today when my car got stuck. I tried rocking the car, pushing it but nothing helped. The entire time this couple is standing 10 feet away from me, cleaning their car. Not only didn't they offer help but everytime I'd look at them they'll pretend they're looking somewhere else. People!

some people are like that, but they are not obliged to help you. you just got stuck at the wrong place at a wrong time.

It's not their job to help you. If they were friends or people that you've done a favor for in the past, yes I would have expected some help, but the fact that you're expecting complete strangers to give you a hand when you don't even ASK is kind of brash and selfish, IMO.

Maybe they didn't think you needed help. Next time, if you need help, ask. You'd be surprised at how effective that is.

I knew people will start saying that. But before you continue - I live in a small town and everybody here helps each other. When I see somebody stuck on the side of the road I usually stop and help. And so do the others. Giving somebody 5 minutes of your life isn't so terribly hard to do. Especially since they already had shovels and everything.

I agree....if you ask then I would help, but I am not going to go out with the purpose of doing good things for everyone that I see....had you asked and they ignored you, then I would then qualify them as a$$holes.

I would have helped you. Unless of course you were a ricer that got yourself stuck doing something stupid, in which case I would laugh.

Did you actually ask for help? No? Then they're not assholes. :|

are you a person of different race than them?

at anyrate, the best way to deal with people who pretend not to see you ..is to go right up to their face.... it's funny... they'll definately help you then.

there's a study done on what makes people more likely to help or not. if you have a flat on a very busy highway, you are not likely to get help. while on a desolate country road, you have a better chance.

I don't think they were real people, they sound like the lifeless soul-less automatons that comprise about 98.9% of humanity.

I was going to ask, but they pretended that they don't notice me. I still should've asked just to piss them off :)
