Simple version:
Imagine pairs figureskating. You have a man and a woman doing a dance together, and so long as there's no one else on the ice, they interact only with each other. They are "entangled".
Now, put a full hockey game on the same ice at the same time. In short order the guy will throw/spin his partner, and she'll get taken out in mid air with a bodycheck. Their entanglement is destroyed as they interact and equilibrate with their new environment.
