Also standard are roof rails with aluminum cross bars that sync with the Audi ESP system to adapt accordingly.

I don't get how it adapts with an ESP system

perhaps it tries to sense the shift in weight if you have something heavy on the roof rails?

Yeah. It would "know" that it's top heavy and adapt the stability control to that.
