BBC is great.
Lots of the others, however, aren't exactly what we would call The Free Press.

afghan government is the official government site (in exile - not the taliban).

'dawn' is the best english language paper in pakistan imho. ironically they're more independent today under
the military dictatorship of musharaff than they were when democratically elected sharif ruled.

a better isreali paper is haaretz (the link is to the english language version).
