Ok, just what the heck is all the hoopla about CAS anyway? Just what is it exactly? Also I tried setting my pc 100 ram to CAS Latency to 2 (actually it said "2T" in my BIOS, Aopen AX6BC) and when I POSTed a message appeared on my screen that said
"Suggested SDRAM CAS Latency is "3""

I'm currently at the CAS "2" setting. Is there any chance I can damage any componets?

Thanks.

Its bragging rights... :)

but for us with VIA boards, running High FSB + Cas2 really helps performance and mem bandwith...(yes, performance is higher :)).

I run a c2-533@935 on my aopen ax6bc and I get a cas latency is "2" in my bootup screen. It seems to autodetect the chip speed and suggest what to use. I assume with autodetect, the 2T or 3T you change to in your bios takes precedence.

Basically, I've found its better to run as high as you can with 2T than higher with 3T.
