So, there's been some new hypercar news.
First, we've got the second Pagani being tested.

Not sure how I like the front yet. I like the rear a lot better, although hopefully the production cars will have much better fit and finish. The gullwing doors look a little odd. I was personally not a huge fan of the original Zonda for two reasons. The back end just looked too funky to me, and it looked like it had a hunhcback. They've addressed both issues, and so I'm liking it a lot.
Next up is probably my current favorite hypercar company: Koenigsegg. They've got another tweaked version of the car they've been making for going on about 15 years now. They're giving it a real name this time: Agera.

I'm liking the front. a bit better although it is getting a bit busy. Still love the wrap around glass. I do wish the rear spoiler was a bit more intergrated, and I don't like the space between the rear diffuser and the coves its stetting in. The taillights, as they've been on all of the Koenigseggs I could take or leave. They're not bad, but they're not especially good. You might be scratching your head wondering why they're saying 900bhp is an increase in power. Well, in order to get the 900 or 1000 horsepower in the CCX/CCXR you had to be running higher octane or biofuel such as E85. My guess is this is that much power on the gas you'd find here in the US. Interior is a bit nicer, but some of you will bemoan what's missing in that center tunnel. They've developed a new "flappy paddle gearbox".
Oh, and based on what I read at some site, apparently Koenigsegg is in the process of developing a substantially new car, and possibly also a 4 door car. Not sure how likely the latter is since they didn't go for Saab after all. They did have that interesting electric car they helped design (although it sounds like they have nothing to do with it now).

Then there's the Zenvo ST1. http://www.topgear.com/uk/photos/stig-versus-zenvo-st1?imageNo=0
My only issue with this car is that it doesn't have a really defining design characteristic. It looks very much a supercar but lacks its own identity. Seems like the driving experience could make up for that. 1100bhp (although where they're getting 806bhp per ton is a bit confusing since the car weighs right around 3000 pounds), so it should be plenty fast.
There's a couple more that I was going to mention (Hennessey stuffing a ZR1 engine with some turbos into an extensively modified, Elise), but I'll need to drudge their links up. Lastly, we can't forget that Ferrari is hard at work on an Enzo replacement, and Lamborghini should be unveiling the Murcielago's replacement this year. Porsche just showed off a new superhybrid so we'll see if we might see a Carrera GT successor. I think it might help people get over the Panamera and 2nd gen Cayenne. Of course if it turns out to be a hybrid, it might cause even more of the diehard Porschephiles to have fits.
