I figured I would share this with everyone here. Would like to hear some constructive criticism. I know the recording quality and levels are horrible but it was something quick we wanted to do.

Linky

edit: Added a couple new songs. LMK what you think.

hmm, well, i only listened to Its a crime, and maybe im just an idiot, but it seems like when you go from verse to chorus and back theres no change in the guitar dynamics, its too monotonous, make some dynamic difference, its the moment you expect something a bit more from it, for it to escalate, into the chorus, it doesn't, not enough anyways, the guitar needs to dig in a bit more, yeah, umm, vocals were ok, uhh... bass was blaring in a few parts, i think its the bass, like during the guitar solo and at the end, but that might be the recording job, not bad

edit: i said i didnt listen to all of it, and i hadnt when i started, but i got through it twice by the end of the post

listening to its a crime... the do dun is.. just really repetitive and seems to take away from the song. moving on..

we're working on that right now, adding more breaks in the music and giving parts more of a "punch"

keep the input coming

the guy stretches out the lyrics too much, It seems like it would be better with short fast lyrics and speeding up the music a bit, at least in the track, Not Enough.

nah, i play rhythm guitar

We sound so much better live, the songs even sound differently (maybe a live recording eventually). Even I can say that and you are your worst critic

pretty much anything we can get haha

anyone willing to make a cool graphic for us, possible album art?

listening to "not enough"... some damn good stuff! your band is better than most stuff on the radio:thumbsup: let me know when your album comes out!!

edit: music sounds better when my bass is on.. but since people are sleeping in my house i gotta keep it down 🙁

I have to admit, it's a lot better than I was expecting from an amateur band. Certainly better than some stuff I've heard from "real" bands.

A bit more variety in the guitar, like PsychoticIdiot said, and you'd be golden.

Whoever does the voice is really good.

will definitely let you know when the album comes out. we have the songs to do it, just the fact of getting it accomplished. We're all in college so the ol "time management" thing comes into play.

Thanks for all the comments, makes us want to work harder:beer:

we're currently working on getting everything recorded for an album, and a website. As soon as we get the album recorded and copyrighted. Cd's will be up for sale. Lots of $$$ though.

listened to 17 hours. as people have mentioned, i'd try to find something to distinguish the choruses. this doesn't have to be the guitars, but you can use the drums to really make huge differences in dynamics as well. it's always a little tough to give advice because i can only say what *I'd* do, and if you did it all like me, it wouldn't sound like you anymore! also i always personally try to stay away from those real mid-tempo light-rock sounds... i like either clean and pretty or ROCK. but again, that's why you're you and i'm me. but IF it was me, i'd be using acoustic guitars for the rhythm and bring that light distortion sound from the solo in for all the choruses on top of the acoustics...

but really i don't hear anything that subtle "production" changes wouldn't help out. the performances and songwriting are all good (and this is 99% of the battle!), and the recording isn't nearly as bad as you made it out to be. all in all good work, you guys should be proud of yourselves. i know how much work goes into those few minutes of music!

shameless plug: everyone should check out my band in my sig, if you're interested. different style though.

thanks for the input, always helps to hear from other musicians. I will check out your band after I get home from work and class.

Just heard 'Not enough'. Hearing 17 hours as I'm typing this. The vocals in not enough are good, but at some points it seems kinda lost. It might help if there were supporting vocals at that time. As for 17 hours, it does need a change of pace. 'It's a crime' seems better than the other two, but I think that's just me. The music sounds more matured. Anyway, I dont play any instrument so I might not be making much sense.

Good luck to your band,

CD.
