a long time ago my father just bought a new car so the whole family took a spin in it around the city (i know, we're dorks) hehe. anyways we were at a red light and all of a sudden we feel a bump in the back of our car! and so we all turn around and look at the car behind us. they just sit there and don't do anything so my dad gets out of the car and tells them they rear ended us. the driver said he didn't and my dad was like come out and look at the scratch. and so whlie the guy is getting out of the car he forgets to put his car in park and ends up rear ending us again. it was unbelievable. well anyways my dad is super nice so he just let them go (they were an old old couple in the car). but yeah, it sucked cuz we had just bought the car.

you should have followed her car from a distance.........see where she lives then make very threatening phone calls from payphones LOL

or just follow her to her house then beat the crap out of her until you know she had enough brain damage to prevent her from remembering your face

either way would be good

You think yours is bad...I was driving to school with my cousin, looking for parking. I'm completely stopped because the car in front of me is leaving. I'm sitting there waiting for the car to leave, and all of a sudden my car flies forward. I look back and a "fob" japanese woman on her cell phone is laughing. I get out start screaming at her. Telling her to watch where she's going, she goes "I didn't see you". I'm like "b*tch I was stopped for awhile". Then she goes "I wasn't paying attention". I scream at her some more, tell her to fvck off after I notice there's no damage, and drive off. 🙁

I would've said something or got her to fix the scratches, but my parents pay my insurance and I didn't want it to get raised higher. 🙁

You might be able to figure out where she lives (in order to sue her for the repair costs, not to harass her or damage her property).

<< California Vehicle Code (CVC) section 1810 allows the public to obtain your DMV information by filling out the Request for Driver License/Identification Card Information or the Request for Vehicle/Vessel Registration Information form (INF 70D/70R) and submitting a $5 fee for each request. These forms can be obtained at any DMV field office or by calling 1 (800) 777-0133.

CVC section 1810 (b) requires the department to notify you of the request and give you the opportunity to object to the release of your information. DMV will delay the release of your information for 10 days to provide you with the opportunity to voice an objection. Your objection is reviewed and DMV determines whether to release the information depending on what is stated in the objection.

CVC sections 1808.21 and 1810.2 allow government and commercial requesters who have an account with the department to access DMV information without advising you that they have done so.

CVC section 1808.22 (c) requires the department to notify you when DMV releases your residence address to an attorney for a motor vehicle related incident.

Read the code a little more closely. In short you'll be able to find out who the car is registered to, but without an attorney you won't know where they live. You need legal representation, so either get a lawyer or get your insurance company involved. Address is considered confidential info in Ca, you can't release it just by filling out some form. You need to be a member of the appropriate agency (legal, insurance, law enforcement, car manufacturers).

Oh, and mztykal, as stupid looking as this Japanese lady was, it's still pretty damn wrong to call her a fob, some of us might take offence to that.

You are kidding right?

Where I live (southwestern Ontario) it is an arrestable offense to hit a parked car in a parking lot and drive off. Its called hit and run. They can arrest you and suspend your liscense.

At least here the police are required to tell you the name of the person's insurance company if you give them the plate. If they are insured you can cause some serious trouble for them by complaining to their insurance compny. Unreported accidents causing damage is cause to suspend insurance.

All i can say is try the police again. Or research the law yourself to find a charge to lay.

What is it with these middle aged women drivers? I always say women can't drive not because they physically don't know how to but because they have absolutely no driving etiquette. What happened to you is exactly what I mean. I mean WTF? You were parked and the stupid b!tch didn't see your car or something?

I had the same thing happen to me. I had my 6MO Lexus GS300 in a supermarket some middle aged woman in a Lexus LS400 parks next to me real tight. I was watching her the whole time when she opened her door carefully and got out. After that I thought my car was ok when she went to her rear door and wham! Smashed her door right next to me. I jumped out started yelling and screaming at her but the whole time she acted as if I was the guilty party telling me to shut up. I then had to give her a lecture on private property. I left but I gave her door a nice dent back after she went inside.

<< You are kidding right? >>

of course im joking. you know how much hassle it is to go down and dig up a person's phone number when you only know their address?

at least i didn't tell him to send a letter marked 'you have dry hands' and it's filled with baby powder! you get like 20 years for that lol

hey i did something like that once but it wasn't over private property. i was crossin the street when i had a green and this dude in a truck was turning left. the light had JUST TURNED GREEN so i startin to run across because i hate to hold up traffic, he comes right by me and slams on the brakes "watch where yer goin!" he yells. i saw him pull into Pizza Hut, when he went inside i scratched a mark so hard in the paint of his truck that i broke my key (cheap piece of crap made by key cutter) and it ran along the whole length of his truck. that had to have costed at least 600 bucks to fix 😀

that's a horrible thing to do. if i were that guy i would have beat the living f*** out of you

While I know it is suck, but next time you might consider park more careful even when you are in the rush. I wonder how many accidents/troubles are cause by drivers park illegal or not straight because they are in the rush.

that is a complete dick move...just because you ran in front of him and he had to slam the brakes, and not even curse when he told you off, that gives you no right to key up his car. That'd be some good karma if he caught you and beat the sh¡t out of you.

I am wondering how many people in this thread need their head examined. Just some of the comments are down right illegal.

Yo man!

I ain't fallin' for no banana in the tailpipe, man!

If you could find out her name you might be able to find out her address. Just start looking at real estate records which are public domain and you'll find it eventually.

well if anyone lives around the Orange County area specifically in Irvine, this "hit and run" happened on the corner of Jamboree and Barranca in the McD's parking lot.. i go to school here so I dont really have the money to fix the damage

I always say women can't drive not because they physically don't know how to but because they have absolutely no driving etiquette.

Men aren't much better you know. A man's idea of etiquette seems to be "get the hell out of my way or you're dead." If you dare to anything that makes me mad, I have the right to smash your car, follow you and key your car, etc. Lots of people lack good driving skills. Communicate more - if you are going to turn, SIGNAL IT!!!!! And check for other drivers around you - I almost got run off the road right into another car by someone who suddenly decided "I don't want to turn" and just abruptly swerved into my lane - I barely managed to squeeze between the van and a car trying to turn onto the road. Tailgating, speeding, the list goes on...:|
