good job dxkj, too bad their juvenile records won't follow them around. IMHO those aspects of a juvenile's record which indicate a danger to society should not be private, including violent offenses and sex offenses only.

The Skoorb Effect, is when people make replies after reading like the title or something, I had a link to the original thread, involved Skoorb whining cause he couldn't get some car, and someone's sarcasm meter was broken, or he didn't actually read where Skoorb said he was joking. Point being, the Skoorb Effect is present here folks
 
Do what I did recently. My neighborhood was being overrun by some dope dealers and a sudden influx of prositutes. The police were absolutely apathetic. Lucky for me there is a daycare center directly across the street. This is a chain owned by some local politicos.

I sent the chain an email after I watched a prostitute walk in their front door at 8:00AM. She wanted to use a telephone to call the nextdoor drug dealer. Things started happening very soon after.

My neighborhood is almost back to what would be called normal. This daycare chain was my ally of last resort. I am more in fear of the local police now than I ever was of the street criminals. Everyone here knows I am the reason for their loss of income. It doesn't bother me in the least.

You should contact your neighbors. They are as at risk as you are. You will find some that can't be bothered. Others will know exactly what you are talking about. Try and catch them ootside on a Saturday doing lawn work or washing the car.

Cops are generally anal about airsoft guns. We were playing with some outside a friend's house and the cops come and the gun we have at the moment is FREAKING CLEAR like a toy squirt gun and they tell us on their damn PA, "Drop the weapon or we'll shoot." So of course my friend drops it and the cop comes over. He wants to confiscate the stuff since the guy holding the gun was 17, but since there were some that were 18, he gave us the gun back and told us if he got another report he'd take us all "down town."

Stupid cop. And we weren't even shooting each other. We were just shooting trees and into an open field. Dumb neighbors.

don't sweat about whether they know it was you or not. Don't put up with that crap. Nice job!
They are basically cowards, and will not mess with somebody who will do something against them, be it call the cops or confront them.
I would suggest that sometime later you do interact with your neighbors though. No need to have a barbeque or take them on vacation, just quietly introduce yourself and indicate a willingness to watch over thier home in exchange for the same from them. It will make things safer for everyone.

As far as them knowing it was you that called the police, I think you'd be better off if they did suspect it was you. If they were running around in your yard hiding guns there, they obviously didn't think anyone there was paying attention to what was going on around the house. You never know, they may have even been hiding them there to try a break-in later. Now they know that you are alert to what's going on and willing to call the police or do whatever it takes to keep your house and the neighboorhood safe. They won't see your house as an easy mark anymore and stay clear if they have any sense at all. Even the dumbest criminals don't generally target a place where they think they are most likely to caught.
