i just built a new machine for the office and well for some reason when i start it up it beeps 3 times and i dont get any video. ive checked the video card and ram to make sure its in...

Soyo 7vca2 MOBO
ATI XPERT 128 RAGE FURY 16MB AGP MPEG2/DVD PLAYBACK
52x sony cdrom
KINGSTON KVR133X64C3/128 128MB PC133 CL3 SDRAM DIMM
IN-WIN S500 MID TOWER

any idea what could be wrong? Bad video card or memory maybe?

hi,
page 46 of your motherboard manual tells you what the beeps mean.
basically you have a video card problem. try re-seating your video card and making sure that it's well seated. moke sure that no gold fingers show above the AGG connector. if that doesnt work try borrowing another video card and see if that works...

ya i was thinking about that but wanted to see if it could be anything else. SO i installed the old VIDEO CARD (PCI) and well. IT WORKS. guess im sending back the video card i got for them =p

AGP adapters sometimes have to be pushed in very firmly. Sometimes I've even had to loosen the MB in the case, temporarily, in order to raise up the MB a little - or bend up the AGP card's bracket a bit.

ok, mine did the same thing - reset the cmos/bios and then boot it. For some reason my duallie wouldnt boot up with the old settings. Oh nevermind, just read the middle posts. Good luck
