--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just wanted to see what you people thought of where I am and if my volts are OK...and where to go from here. I'm on air, so that's limited. Room is 28+ ambient. I am idling, right now writing this at 37-37. I ran a bunch of SuperPi's 32M and the max temp was 50...the cores bounced form 45 back and forth all the way up. I was getting freezes in SuperPi last night. I upped the CPU volts from 1.26 and have gotten none today, I also raised the SPP to 1.45 from 1.4
I am at 1500 X 9..3.375Mhz
Cpu is set for 1.3....Bios reports 1.25, CPUZ 1.248..I assume this is Vdroop?
FSB is 1.4
MEM 2.1
HT 1.2
SPPPciE 1.45
MCP 1.5
Aux 1.5.

ONE MORE question...I just tried dropping my SLock to 8 and raising the FSB. AT 1600 it boots fine, but when I try 1700 the initial loading screen is at 2.13 X8 and it tell me the computer..COmputer BIOS is in safe mode etc. WHy won't it let me try 1700 X 8? Never had that happen before!

Just not sure where the juice needs to go. Not too concerned about going much higher, but I assume the CPU is the item to raise. Just want to check. I may lower to 8x and raise the FSB up..what settings would need a change if I go this way?
Thanks for any help!

erm 1700 means a fsb of 425. I really have no clue, but it might be that your mobo doesn't like doing 425fsb? It can't be your ram, coz at 1:1 it would still be underclocked. And, why would you want to drop the multi to 8 ? I've read a thread somewhere on this board today where someone showcases a lower multiplier with a higher fsb having no advantage over a higher multiplier with a lower fsb. 9*400 = 3.6ghz, isn't that enough hehe, and might even need vcore bump to 1.35 or 1.4 to stay stable. Your temps will be hitting 60ish by then.

Oh and I doubt its vdroop, coz it would be a little much to be vdroop, and if I'm not mistaken it only happens under load, which is apparently not the case if your bios sais 1.25, so it's probably just a bad report of the actual voltage.

I raised the cpu volts a bit to 1.3125. And the FSB is 1550. I'm now at 3492. I ran Orthos for an it was no higher than 54 on both cores. I tried 8X to see if I could get the FSB higher and how that worked. Don't ubderstand the safe mode thing...

Well I just got it up to 3600. CPU at 1.35, cpuz says1.304(I guess you add .03 to that so 1.334)... 45 minutes of ORTHOS doing small stress the cpu stuff..FFT's? lol No problems there. My idle, doing this, is at 37-39 ish. The high for Orthos was 59, but ran more at 57-58. My startup temps are at 29-30C. I am using the ENZOTECH 120 Ultra. It was cooling good last night but I threw a 150CFM Delta fan on it, replacing the Delta it came with(85cfm I think). A little bit noisy though lol..I'll probably put the 120CFM Delta I have which is much quieter. I like that as an exhaust fan though...The Delta's really *work* compared to the other top fans I have. not silent, but they really move the air!

Now the hard part for me..trying to get the memory at 1-1. Right now I'm at 3:4..frquency of 533.3, 5-5-5-18. 30 Trc and 2T. IF ANYONE WHO KNOWS MEMORY reads this PLEASE let me know ho cause I really don't know how to get the most from it!

I am a tad comfuzzled. Can you give a bit more information on exactly what you are working on? Your sig has an E6600 with DDR2-1066 RAM on a 680i board cooled with a TR-Ultra Extreme, but you are talking about Enzo-tech coolers with Delta fans and RAM that will not run 1:1. Is the system you are asking for help with the one listed in your sig?

If so, another question about your RAM, you say you are running at 3:4 and 533, for DDR2 you double the frequency to give the speed rating, so your RAM is running at 1066 speeds now.

As for the Vdroop thing, it generally occurs when your CPU is under load. If you can get a 3.6 OC using only 1.35 Vcore on air, you are doing extremely well. Congratulations.

I swapped out the TR for the enzotech....I am not sure how to get 1-1 ratio with the Ram. Right now I lowered my Overclock to 3487, 1550X9. I don't need to push it although I had no major problems at 3.6... I have the cpu at 1.325...I lowered it from 1.35 when I lowered the FSB by 50 from 1600. I may lower it some more as so far so good.
Right now my memory frequency is 532.8...I get the dual channel thing.. the FSB:Dram ratio is 8:11..This is what I am not sure of...To get the 1-1 I gather I have to lower the FSB of the RAM. Does 1-1 always give better perfomance? Is it worth it usually? I will probably drop the Ram FSB to 800 and see what happens..that gives me 1-1 correct? Actually 775....I'll run some benches..seems like running 533 would be better than running at 387.5...just don't understand how important the 1-1 is since everyone seems to mention that...
Thanks!

Just benched at 1-1..bandwidth is 6400ish..at 8:11 the bandwidth is 7600+ so much for 1-1! lol

Yeah, but it is all synthetic benchmarks. Do a real world test, such as encoding or a winrar archive type of thing and note the results.
