I live in Tampa where twco is and have bought 2 1600's in the last month. Both are AGOIA Y. They probably bought a big lot of them.

newegg has a 1700+ based on the thoroughbred core popping in and out of stock. If you are gonna overclock at all I kepp my eye on that one and order quick, I think it was $58 last I checked.

1700+ is not T-Bred.. it's still Palomino.... but maybe it's the new AGOIA core.

Hmm,dunno in this case but both AT & THG listed the Tbred core going down to XP1700 ,no idea if they actually made it to the markets though.

What I can never understand is why any place will sell the lowest clock speed CPU for a higher price then the next speed up?!

,but it always seems to happen as the lowest speed grade is being phased out.

Is it true the 1600 Overclocks better than the rest of the bunch up such as the 1700?

I keep reading that they do pretty well, but there is always an element of luck in how YOUR CPU/System will OC.

My experience is with two 2000+ CPUs that I recently installed here. ( bought them because I knew my RAM was
not particularly good at running high speeds, and to do the 1600+ with a decent OC it would cost too much to replace my RAM.)

Annnnnyway, to get up to 1750MHz (2100++) I was already bumping Vcore. (1.775 in one and 1.800 in the other).
From what I seem to read in frequent posts, with decent RAM a 1600+ can do these speeds.

YMMV
