that's definitely jazz, a classic tune from the cool era.

Miles Davis - Kind of Blue
Vince Guaraldi Trio - A Charlie Brown Christmas
Stan Getz and Joan Gilberto - Getz Gilberto

those are all albums by the way, and incredible all the way through

Dave Brubreck - Take Five is one of my favorite jazz songs.

Dave Brubeck Quartet - For All We Know.
Anything by Miles Davis, I really like the three cd set Miles Davis in person at the blackhawk.
John Coltrane

You can also just go on amazon and view the essential jazz lists. They have pretty good choices if you're serious about getting into jazz.

Heifetz

Check out the Brad Mehldau - The Art of the Trio series. All of them are great albums. Elegiac Cycle is also fantastic.

Cast Your Fate to the Wind
Black Orpheus
Classical Gas
Instrumental renditions of Summertime
Birdland
Take the A Train
Girl from Ipanema
Green Dolphin Street

Those are some good famous ones. KPLU is a good place to listen online

A relative unknown that you probably can't find - Solida Del Sol. If you can find that, LET ME KNOW!!!

Pat Metheny - Off Ramp, Still Life (Talking), both albums

Keith Jarret - The Koln Concert

Bob James/David Sanborn - Double Vision

Alright, that should be enough songs... thanks, so far i've only gotten a few miles davis songs, but they good! 🙂 thanks

Ever listen to new jazz? It's traditional jazz covered in funk and energy. I prefer the new school jazz artists to traditional ones.

Jaco Pastorius... ANYTHING
If you like Miles, try his band members like Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, etc
Nobody directly mentioned Thelonius Monk... why listen to a tribute when you can get the real deal... 'Round Midnight is still amazing.
Coltrane, Art Farmer, Count Basie, Cannonball Adderley, Charlie Parker, Stan Getz, Oscar Peterson... so much good stuff.

One of my favs!

Coltrane's A Love Supreme is just PERFECT for a winter evening, fire going, bottle of wine and just relaxing....mmmm....

Nothing can get me in a good mood as much as Vince Guaraldi's Linus and Lucy.   George Winston did a CD called The Music of Vince Guaraldi and it's an excellent rendition of his work.

And, I'll toss out Sade, Etta James, Nina Simone, Dinah Washington, Joshua Redmond, Wynton Marsalis and there's a song Chrissie Hynde covered for a movie soundtrack...grr...forget the move (Ewan McGregor and Ashley Judd). Anyway, that song was I Wish You Love and she NAILED it!

If you like fusion stuff...Chick Corea would be a good one to listen to.

Coltrane's "My Favorite Things". I challenge you to find one person who doesn't like it.😛
