Some good Game and Music speakers?

I've looked at some previous threads about this, but I couldnt really find what I wanted.. I'm kinda looking for something no more than $140 , and has Lots of wattage to it, and doesnt sound all distorted at full volume (or maybe at absolute full volume.. but i want it so if its nearly at full like just a notch away there is no difference in sound quality).. I'd be using a Audigy2 ZS OEM . http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...value=906:8151,1079:8709&bop=and&Order=rating is a list of some 5.1 speakers.. <scratches head> so yeah.. anyone got any recommendations? I read some reviews on several different ones, seems if one is flawed so is the other.. I just want really good quality sound that gets pretty loud.. anyway.. =/

Logitech Z-5300e's are good. You might be able to find a deal on them somewhere. I did.

yeah I kinda want to buy em locally is the problem. I live in alaska and its literally like a dollar a pound to get it here. I was at tiger direct and saw some speakers for 50$, i clicked the estimate Shippin and it wound up to a total of 128$ !!!

Which one of those is better? Price isn't REALLY an issue.. I just want the better of the two.. Does the X530 have like half as much volume and more distorted at highest volume than the Z5300? or are they both sort of the same except not.. anyway im going to bed i'll check this thread tommorow.

Oh and whats the difference betwene the Z-5300E and Z-5300? are they the same thing but WalMart didnt put the E on the end of it?

If you're going to buy them locally, you might want to see if any places have some out for you to test.

I know my local Best Buy and Circuit City have some speakers out to test.

Logitech gets you good bang for the buck. There aren't a lot of good 5.1 options in this pricerange.

If you don't plan on filling a huge room with sound, they should do quite well getting loud.

I think that justdeals.com had Refurbished Logitech Z-680's for $165. I know that it is a bit more then you wanted to spend, but I am talking about 505Watts of THX Certified POWER! The have a Dolby Digital Decoder built in.

There is a Digital Optical and a Digital Coax input for your Audigy (I assume that the OEM still has a S/PDIF jack). You will also want to use the (3) 1/8" Anolog inputs for your gaming.

I haven't bought from 'justdeals.com' before, but I do own the Z-680's. Let me know you are ready to hook them up. I think that I still have the links for the stuff you will need to do to set up Digital Coax properly (I think that the Creative Labs installation guide has a Type-O in it).

Na the shipping from that would still bump it way over 200 anyway unless its like 2 pounds lol.

I just plan to use some speakers for a descent sized office and maybe so you can hear them from outside with the doors open.. (my desk is right next to a window/door to the outside patio..)

My z-560s (4.1 version of z-680s) were able to be heard three floors above me in my dorm when we cranked them on game days.

It smelled like ozone afterwards, but I didn't really care if I blew them out.

But I want something that can get pretty loud.. a lot louder than my sissy Altec Lansing AVS500s .. which when I bought em a week later the sub and 2 satellites died of natural causes...

So you want to fill a room that's 45' x 75'? :Q

If the ceilings are like 8' or 10' that's like 32,000 cubit feet.
A "large room" would be like 4000 cubic feet....

Uhhh... you're going to need some serious stuff to have decent volumes in a large area like that.

Well anyways.... I guess for $140 the Logitechs are about as loud as you're going to get.

Are you planning on hooking these all up in one area or having them spread out around the office?

just around my computer desk.. ok maybe I didnt mean that long of a range.. lol .. Just so it'll like hurt my hears if im right next to the speakers for very long, (aka when its on full volume..) but also wont sound distorted.. Can the 5300s do that?

So you're looking for something that is loud enough that it would hurt your ears to be near them?

If that's the case, my z-560s were capable of doing that. I know the z-5300s are weaker in power output than the z-560s/z-680s, but I don't know how the efficiency of the satellites and sub changed, so overall volume may or may not be much weaker.

Justdeals also has the z-560s for $75. Maybe shipping wouldn't be too bad on them and it would be another good option for you.

Im talking about like.. I saw some speakers that said they had audio jacks for a headset.. So like if your speakers are plugged in to your sound card, would it be better to plug the headset into the speakers headset jacks (if it has any), or just plug it directly into the sound card.?

I think the z-560s would be louder. They have more wattage, so unless the efficiencies are really different, the 560s would get you greater volume.

I haven't actually used the 5300s so I can't really compare the two.

Oh, like headphone jack, not microphone jack?
Either would be a good way to do it.
