Still waiting for someone to boycott oil, the orignal cause of this farce. Spite is such a beautiful human emotion.

Read the webpage Tammy. Says Brand boycott. If your not into it then fine, move along. I for one am making a noted effort to not support any French owned companies at this point.

My guess is you just had to say something on this thread so you could boost your 270 posts in 2 months spree.

that's retarded. nobody's going to notice/care you're boycotting, it's not going to have any effect, nobody's going to join you, and the world will move on.

I didn't need this latest French antagonisism to make me boycott their products.

I have always disliked the French. They have never in their history stood for anything that mattered and have always pretended to be superior. Maybe I just hate hairy chicks and people who don't use deodorant. 😛

I know, Even back in the 1700's they partook on a task to aid the evil Americans in their revolution against the British. That was one part of history that didn't matter at all.

This is so lame it's not even funny.
Is boycotting Nissan going to hurt the French? Maybe, but not as much as it's going to hurt American workers in TN and MS.
Boycotts don't work. It's a global marketplace and people from all over the world own stock in companies all over the world which produce products all over the world.

They don't work because noone bothers to give them a chance.

I have boycotted Russian products since the late 80s. Several times their economy has failed because of my boycott. Yeah, I am just kidding. 😛

don't forgot T-Fal (Tefal) for you cooking connoisseurs. I'm sure you can find a lot more products than on that list

I have no intention of throwing out the best set of cookware I've ever owned.

I think Californians, had the right idea: Go to your local store(s), get as many French made products as possible, and then pour/break or whatever them in a public display. Repeat process as often as necessary. 😉 😀

You don't quite understand the concept of a boycott do you?

You don't get rid of something you have already bought, you just don't buy anymore if it is your decision to boycott.

ie. Michelin tires are good but Cooper tires will probably do me just as good if France continues on their path.

You would take your chances with cheapo tires to spite the French? Also, if Geekbabe sold her T-Fal to someone who was considering buying a new set, that would hurt T-Fal because they would lose a sale to the used cookware market.

You just have to argue don't you.

Cooper tires are not cheap and would not put me or my family in danger. Do some research on them, they have good recomendations. They are also less expensive then the Michelins.

In your very contrived example which has nothing to do with what Geekbabe was saying you would be correct only if she did not buy a new set. It sounds as if she would.

Yes, if I felt it was the proper thing to do I would find alternatives to French products. I doubt that it would be very difficult to find suitable and proper alternatives.
