Some financial advice...

Im in need of some financial advice and/or ideas....

I get paid less than 900 euros a month. I drive to work 45km and from work another 45km, total 90km. I spend about 70 euros a week on gas (total 280 euros a month). I eat everyday spending about 5-10 euros (total 40-60 euros a month).

I have to repair my car that is gonna cost about 600+ euros and in the bank I have about 780 euros or so. As you can see, this following month is going to be VERY hard (or even impossible to make).

What advice or ideas would you give me? Im not sure how I can spend less on food as more or less, I eat McDonalds and crap like that and its the only thing near as I have 1 hour to eat. Doing 180km (meaning I go home to eat) would at the end, make me spend more on gas.

Public transports' hours are not compatible with my working hours (full shift) which also screws a second job idea.

Thanks for all the serious advice.

Bring lunch to work.

Move closer to work, eat ramen, buy a tub of Nutella and crackers.
Moving closer to work is a option I have considered but even though I have been at my job for two years, I know its the company I don't want to work at forever and I have other goals in mind.

Carpool with coworkers if any live near you.
No coworkers near me

Your employer should be paying for transportation.
No, he shouldn't and does not have to.

Sell your car. Take the train everywhere.
First, there is no train near me. Second, other public transport methods are not compatible with my working hours.

We are sadly not allowed to eat at work. Any time someone does it, it is highly frowned upon.

Why can't you take food with you to eat?
Make a sandwich at home and take it to work...
Like I mentioned above, I can't eat at work.

My only option related to that is to eat something cold (meaning no heat is needed) and eat it outside in my car. Sandwiches are good but I don't really enjoy the idea of eating 20 sandwiches in a month...

Law requires companies to allow feeding for employees at least once per 4 hours.
No matter what kind of dangerous or dirty etc job you are doing, it's required, if you are not getting it, your employer does abuse you pretty badly.

If I would be in similar situation, think I would leave job and put myself on welfare till I get something better, since even on welfare you will have more spare money than now. Anyway sucks to be in spain now, here more up north it's way better.

So you want to save money, but don't want to get rid of all the luxuries and conveniences you're used to. Welcome to 99% of the population.

He's eating, but not on-site.

Be more creative. I take my food with me every day, and I haven't had a sandwich in months. Motorcycles are easy on fuel. Get a beater bike for nice weather.

lol wut? almost no employers do this unless you a driving a company vehicle

Mine does 🙂 but mostly cause there is no way they could have 11.5k people parking everyday and the traffic would be 10 times worse than it already is. So they pay for us to car pool via bus or take small foot ferries.

But seriously you can eat other things than sandwiches. Nothing wrong with eating your car either. Know plenty of people who do that just to get away from work lol

No break room? Regardless, if this is actually the case, tell your employer to fuck off and bring your lunch to work. You can always keep it in your car and eat there or outside. You're an employee, not a slave.

Not eating out is probably one of the fastest and easiest ways you can immediately save money on.

This is simple.

Get paid in dollars. 900 Euros = 1200 Dollars. Problem solved.

Can you fix the car yourself?

You can eat things that aren't sandwiches... they aren't the only make it yourself food in the world.

Ride your bike to work.
Take your food along, don't eat out, just reheat whatever you have. Cook every two days, eat the leftovers for lunch and dinner.

Ask your employer for an advance on the salary.

How many days do you work? Is that 5-10 euros just lunch? How do you only spend 60 Euros a month, yet spend 5-10 euros for just lunch on one day? Do you only work like 10 days a month?
