*They're ignorant of the fact that the whole human race is inherently imperfect.

*They're ignorant to the fact that inbreeding causes hereditary defects.

*They ignore the fact that "most" people are a product of their upbringing... "especially them".

*They usually lack anything else to be proud of so they *grasp* on to the perception that their race is superior.

If a superior alien race came and visited us, would it be fair of them to treat you as you have treated others?

-Thanks for reading.

More than most of us would probably admit.

Yeah, this is pointless.

We ALL are racist/prejudice/etc. to a certain extent...some just a little (or a lot) more than others.

Some facts about typical people named "Captain Obvious"....

* They post up obvious sh!t that's been said 100 times.

* They tend to congregate and speak in places where they know they will not be argued with.

* They induce the words "I agree" wherever they go.

* They believe themselves to be incredibly profound.

If aliens were to find this race of people, they would be difficult to tell apart from the rest of the humans.

-Something to think about

As opposed to the atypical racist, who hates people because of their intelligence rather than their ignorance?

You are confusing racism with bias or prejudice. We all harbor biases in one way or the other, but few are actually racist. Only if we allow our feelings to become actions do we then become racist.

Racism is an "act" or how we respond to our biases. In that sense, while ALL of us have pre-conceived notions, few are actually racist.

For example, I think anyone who uses AOL is an idiot. This is a bias. But, when one of my customers who uses AOL calls me for help, I still work just as hard for them as I would anyone else.

And for the sake of being devil's advocate, what is considered actions Russ?

Calling someone out of earshot to your friends a n****r, waving the Confederate flag, dragging a guy to death? Are all of those actions? The Confederate flag is a particular controversial symbol this day. It represents a way of life to some people, hatred and opprestion to others, who is correct?

What about when it comes to making decisions - lets say about jobs cause that's easiest. If I'm an owner of a company, and two people present me EXACTLY identical resumes and creditinals, but they are of different races, and I feel that I will be able to better get along with one because he has the same color of skin as I do, and I make the judgement to hire him, is this racist?

Huh? Are we changing the definition of words now? Racism is a noun not an verb. Its a belief not an action.

Main Entry: rac·ism
Pronunciation: 'rA-"si-z&m also -"shi-
Function: noun
1 : a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race
2 : racial prejudice or discrimination

erub,

All of those are actions.

A.K.A.,

You demonstrate the fundamental problem with the outlook on life displayed by many here at this forum. If it's in a book somewhere it must therefore automatically be reality.

Hehe. I...must...resist...

<...Typical racist...>

We all are genetically of but one race. Racial prejudice is individual idiocy made publicly manifest.

Everyone is a racist. Wether you want to admit it or not we're all racist in some shape, form, fashion, or another. Just that everyone is racist to a certain degree.
