It's probably more like 1500HP. BTW, the displacement of the BMW he's talking about is 1.5L.

wrong again. I believe they are actually around 4000HP.

I love F1.... In fact, most of the engines in the maximum category are impressive. This season has been closest competition in years..... both pilot and team championships are within a few points.

Who is your favorite?

McLaren. I'm a Coultard fan. :)

Down with Ron Dennis! :p

Does anyone know if this sunday race (indianapolis) will be shown on channel other than speedzone? I have a satellite dish but that channel is not included in the package :(

Coultard is lucky he still has a drive with McLaren. He was soundly beaten 2 years in a row by Mika Hakkinen and now he's being beaten by Kimi Raikkonen (who is all of what 23 years old?).

I like Juan Pablo Montoya. I also like Raikkonen. Hopefully, Montoya can dethrone Michael Schumacher and Ferrari this weekend. Go Williams-BMW!!!

I don't think ABC wanted the rights for the race... not surprising considering how many people don't even know what the hell F1 is here. :(

Anyone see 1st qualifying? I know its worthless but i hope this stupid format doesn't ruin the championship if it rains tomorrow and ruins the qualifying of any of the 3 WDC contenders.

I heard some stats on Top Fuel that are staggering too: The engine sucks in enough air in the 1/4 mile to fill up the Goodyear blimp and the dragster accelerates to 100 mph in ..........60 ft. Unreal.

Peace

And to 100mph in .8 seconds (0-60 in .5!)!

Here's some more interesting facts.

Also, dragster technology does trickle down to our cars. Where do you think the Roots style blowers many cars now come factory with came from?

The Roots blowers originally came from heavy diesel truck engines! You still sometimes hear a Roots blower described as 6-71, 8-71, 10-71, etc. The first number stands for number of cylinders and the second stands for cubic inches. A 6-71 blower was meant to be on a 6 cylinder diesel where each cylinder displaced 71 cubic inches.

So they actually have 4000HP, but they only claim 900 to snow the competition?

Anyone know when the next race is on, and what channel? I haven't watched in a while, and want to get back into it.
