I don't think this hurts Bush at all b/c no one expects him to accurately assess matters of fact and he had minimal worldwide stature. But Powell's international standing is taking weekly hits. He's still the administration's most potent PR weapon but anyone looks tall standing next to midgets.

The Institute for Science and International Security, a Washington-based research organization that specializes in nuclear issues, reported yesterday that Powell's staff had been briefed about the implications of the anodized coatings before Powell's address to the Security Council last month. "Despite being presented with the falseness of this claim, the administration persists in making misleading arguments about the significance of the tubes," the institute's president, David Albright, wrote in the report.

"Bush the forgerer? "

"A spokesman for the IAEA said the agency did not blame either Britain or the United States for the forgery. The documents "were shared with us in good faith," he said."

Did you even read the article or are you so blinded by hate that you just ignored it?

Isn't that the same ElBaradei that was ready to declare Iraq clean of all nuclear weapons in 199(4)? until Saddam's son in law defected and told the inspectors where to look for the rather large program?

What's worse . . . Blix's ignorance or American duplicity?

Maybe if the UN was interested in doing real inspections, maybe this problem would not exist.

Are you talking about Pakistan, Israel, or Iraq?

Well UN inspectors really dropped the ball in pakistan and they appear to be doing the same in Iraq.
Last time i checked, Isreal was not subject to any inspections.

So it wasn't hate. I apologize.

You just post articles that you haven't even read and make no stand on. I'm not sure that is much better.

As concerns the tubes.

"It is not time to close the book on these tubes," a senior State Department official said, adding that Iraq was prohibited from importing sensitive parts, such as tubes, regardless of their planned use.

It was against the UN sanctions to import them in any case. That is another breach of the sanctions.

Did Iraq ever offer proof of what the tubes were to be used for?

Hagbard, it's not 'ignoring' the evidence that you present. I've read the links you have listed and do not find them credible. I have read your posts and belive that you have your own agenda for attacking the US. Sometime I would like to know what your agenda is.

it's not the first time the US and Great-Britain look like fools. We all know about the "fine piece of information" Colin Powell was reffering to in a UN security counsil meeting.

I can already see the job requirements for the NSA, CIA and MI6.
1)Excellent skills using google (especially Boolean expressions)
2)Excellent copy-paste skills (preferably the keyboard short-cuts)
