Some drivers think using their turn signal gives them the right to enter into your

When someone is trying to merge into your lane and you're right on the edge of their blind spot, accelerating directly into their blind spot is an even worse dick move. It's a great way to cause a wreck ensuring neither of you make the green light.
 
I have people trying to come in my lane when there is less than a car length in front of me. Like somehow their signal is magically going to make my car disappear. I'll let people in if there is room, but so many people act like their poor planning on lane choice means you should come to a full stop so they can go over 3 lanes to their exit. Turn signals are a request, not a declaration.

i'm a courteous driver along others are too. If I see a car in the next lane approaching quickly, I let it pass before changing into his lane. And I don't impede or cars when they let me in.

I don't even think some people will look after they signal because they think that gives them the right to change lanes without regard
 
As annoying as it is when people do that you are better off slowing down than to be an ass as you could cause an accident.

I tend to let road ragers go through. Eventually this stuff will catch up to them, they'll either get stopped by the cops or end up in an accident.
 
At least they gave a signal. What I hate are the one's who don't and change lanes while there is car less than 2 lengths behind. Common road courtesy are gone from these drivers and can't believe they were issued a drivers license.

They have to go there. You won't let them. You're the dick. If you want to go faster, stay to the left and let that other driver to the right.

It's a really simple concept.

this is why some areas actually enforce the zipper merge. it is "proven" that the people like the OP are a cause of accidents, traffic backups, and encourage unsafe/unfair driving habits.

So I am just going to make a note that most ATOT members drive like fucking douchebags and avoid any threads which deal with driving in this forum. I know your type are already trolling the Garage, but I thought an OT driving thread from a proven troll might be worth a chuckle.

I don't know how use of indicators is taught in the US, but as I understand it, you use the indicator to indicate (to other drivers) your intention to change direction.

For example, if I'm on a busy motorway and I have to change lanes in order to get in the correct lane (for example, turning off the motorway or there's a motorway split), even though I can see the lane I'm indicating towards might be too busy to immediately get into it, I still put on my indicator so someone can see what I want to do and act accordingly (hopefully to accommodate if they're not a self-centred arsehole). That someone might not necessarily be driving the car closest to where I want to go.

So your way to resolve this is to judge someone for something that you don't know whether they've done it or not. And, as someone else already pointed out, your behaviour discourages people from using indicators.

I always let people go if they request it with a turn signal. It hardly takes any effort to let them go and they can get to where they need to go. Often it means missing an exit or not if I let them go.

I found people to be equally courteous the vast majority of the times. It's simple road etiquette.
 
I have a very different driving experience. I usually do not let people in who refuse to use their turn signal. I don't speed up if I give them adequate room and they choose to take it, but sometimes they think they can scare you back and at 290k miles on my car I mostly stick in there.

If they can see you in their rearview mirror, they should be allowed into your lane.
