No one seems to have posted the deals at MC...either people are just totally oblivious of them, dont know MC, or just too lazy to view the circular online...i dont know... lol...

Mad Dog 56x CDROM $40 - $30 MMIR = $10
Mad Dog Prowler 4.1 Sound Card $18 - $15 MMIR = $3

warm i guess: WD 180gig 7200RPM SE HD $270 - $130 MMIR = $140

For the rest of the specials in these 4 pages available at microcenter.com go here.

The circular lasts until 6/15, at which time the circular may be reissued with a new date offering the same exact deals, or a new one with new deals...most of the rebates in this circular are good for purchases made through 6/30.

I was at the MicroCenter in Santa Clara, CA the other day. I was checking out the Buslink 52x24x52x CDRW $40 - $20 MMIR = $20.

Be sure to check around the store for these. They had 2 types of these drives available. They have a sticker on the front that say either "With SmartBurn Technology" or "JustLink Technology" ... or something like that. From what I've read from other forums, the ones labeled "SmartBurn" are rebadged Liteons ... which seems to be the model everyone recommends.

Thanks for the post !

MC doesn't mail me flyers any more, and doesn't include in newspaper ... so they drift out of my consciousness. Curious, since I've bought several hundreds$$ of gear in the last couple of years ... a nice store in general, but low-profile.

our local MC has some JUNK RAMs.... All I could find from their stockpile of RAM was Spekteks (few), Elixiars (loads), VT (loads), G-tek? (few), and 1! Micron chips on generic PCB.... I didn't touch ANY of them...

Also a Belkin wireless router for $30 AR and a US Robotics USB wireless adapter like $18 AR, too lazy to get the circular and actually check. Both are 802.11b

I would be interested in the PC3200 memory for my Dell, but rebate is limited to one per person, per household and I don't want to deal with multiple orders nor using alternative addresses.

I went to the MicroCenter here in MN and picked up one of those BusLinks. They had both "Buffer Under Run Protection" and "JustLink" boxes. I picked a "Buffer Under Run". Turned out to be an AOpen. Oh well.

Beware of Buslink rebates through Microcenter, by friend at work has been waiting for over 4 months now and has even contacted the BBB. They still have not contacted him yet...The rebate was through Buslink btw. Still a good deal on the drive though!

if you can get Microcenter to Pricematch the WD180gig drive to outpost.com for $210 (and probably $4 shipping), you can get the drive for $84 After rebate...

note: drive is ATA100 and comes with an UATA100 PCI card...and it had 8Meg Cache...

There's an SMC 802.11b PC-Card for $29.99 - $10 MIR. $20 is not bad for a wireless card. I got mine for $40 (it was a Netgear though).

If it is RAM you are looking for there are better deals, such as the free AR 256MB Kingston PC2100, or the re-instated Crucial $25 off popular 512MB upgrades thru http://www.myhpclub.com I just ordered a 512MB PC2700 Crucial DIMM for $46 shipped.
