I got 007 off of irc today....and was going about setting my tv-pc up to watch the movie. I'd setup xvid/ac3 before, and had all the files I needed (thank god for gspot)
Anyway. I spent about a god dang hour fudgin w/ it and could not get XVID's to work at ALL. Man, I was cussing like a madman......thinking it was directx....or my media player (zoom). Finally, I decided to install the latest directx (for direct show) and see if that fixed it.
"You must be logged in with administrator privelages to install this software package".
Man, can you say feeling dumber then a retarded rock? None of my codecs would install b/c it was a new OS install, and I forgot to give my user name Admin access.
Amazing how idiotic I am sometimes. If I hadn't tried to install DirectX I'd probably stil be wondering why GSPot said no codec installed for XVID.
