What would stop someone from flushing too much toilet paper? The damage would be the same considering that flushing menstrual products would clog piping. It seems that the person that did that should be identified and punished, and that people should generally be taught to not be an asshole.

Maybe we also don't structure society and infrastructure in a way that defaults to an assumption that everyone is a jerk, lest everything look like a prison.
True story, about 8 years ago at work there was some dude that kept purposely plugging up the toilets. He'd just put a ton of TP and butt gaskets in the toilet. This was big news and they had a security guard checking the shitters like once an hour for weeks. The idea being if they knew exactly when it happened they could check the cameras and figure out who it was.

So one weekend I went in to do some extra work, I was the only person in my floor (of around 400 desks). I go in to take a shit and the toilet is completely full of debris. At first I just went to a different stall. But then I started freaking out that they'd see me on the cameras and think it was me. So I decided I had to clean all of that out of the toilet myself. It was like a full box of butt gaskets, plus the box, and like a whole roll of TP and I pulled it all out with my bare hands...

I guess what you call butt gaskets are what sailors call nuke bibs.

Do I want to know what a "butt gasket" is?

Anyone who is actually up in arms about tampons--and not just trolling, as is happening here in this thread--should just be avoided. Add it to the list of nature's danger signals along with red caps and a baby bear on its own.

I used one of those once and nearly slid off the toilet!

Are butt gaskets a thing with sailors?
They were in all the bathrooms in the base facilities, but I don't really remember them being on the submarines ( would add to the trash volume).
For those of you who don't know, there is sort of a schism between those that are not nuclear rate qualified and those that aren't due to the "nukes" getting out of the drudgery type jobs (cleaning for one). Thus the derogatory "nuke bib" reference.
Oh and you are not a nuke if you touch weapons, it's all reactor oriented.

I haven't heard any proposals to end public services.

If you're really trying to convince me that you've never heard the GQP proposing to cut/gut a public service, then you're either supremely ignorant about US politics for the last ten years at the very least or you're about as convincing as Trump telling people that he's never heard of Project 2025 or any other person that he wants to distance himself from.

I honestly don't care which it is, because you either shouldn't be discussing a topic that you're evidently clueless about, nor should I bother to waste my time with a serial liar.

Jesus. What next, "I haven't heard of any conservatives ever being fans of tax cuts, small government, cutting regulations, restricting what should be taught in schools, curtailing womens' rights, or owning the libs!"... it's pretty much all you lot blather on about.

Policies don't make that happen, parents do.
when fox news, OANN, newsmax, and the republican presidential nominee tell you how terrible america is (tm), and how critical race theory and DEI are ruining america, and migrants invading america, and the need to make america great again, yes, they are dealing in fearmongering. and the fearmongerers who get elected will set policies accordingly.
