I noticed that after I did it. I'm just glad I got the links right. :)

It's a 71. It has a 455/400. I just had it painted a few years ago. I have owned it for over 18 years and it has seen a lot of changes, motors, trannies and the like.

It has a Torker intake, holley 830cfm DP annular discharge, TRW 10 to 1, Engle cam 512I,523E lift 274I/280E duration ,mallory comp 9000 dist w/6a box , Hooker 1 7/8 super comps, milodon oil pump and 7 qt pan, CC roller rockers, Manley valves, 3 inch exhaust with 2 chamber flowmasters. The heads are "c" castings with mild porting. It has a 3000 stall and trans go shift kit, the rear is a Olds non c-clip 12 bolt rear with richmond 4:10s and Summer bros axles.

The best it will do in the 1/4 is 13.2 @100 as it is very traction limited. I just bought me some BFG drag radials and next year I should be in the mid 12s. The rims are Centerline Auto drags. 15x5.5 and 15x8.5

Hope that wasn't to much info. :)

Very nice car, who is the weird looking guy standing in front of it? ;) j/k

I'm a Mopar guys, but I can definately give any fellow drag racer a pat on the back :) Looks nice, good luck on the 12s, I need more traction to get there myself hehe.

Good specs. I wonder how many people here understand them? Just curious.

Was in the Seattle, Vancouver area in August and was amazed at the interest in cars there. Ever/always drive your car on the street? Can you? Is it legal.

Holy crap that's an awesome car...as a matter of fact, it's the same exact one in Demolition Man (I watched it the other day)! Same color and everything!

thebestMAX, I try to drive it as often as possible but just not in the rain which around here means Oct-March it usually sits. :) It was my daily driver for the first 9 years but when I bought my CJ-5 I put it in the garage. werk, the car in demolition man ,if I remember right, is either a 68 or 69 but they are very similar.
Breakit23, for the most part what it says is the engine is a 455 cubic inch with a turbo 400 transmission. The list where I ramble is motor parts that I've added and transmision upgrades.

oops, very similar indeed. Just don't go getting in any high speed chases with futuristic cop cars! ;)

ratkil, what year (engine size) Torino do you have?

soybomb, what kind of car do you drive? I figure if I can do mid 12s and still haul 6 people comfortably that should be good. Besides anything faster then a 12 flat you need at least 6 point rollbar.

SpYrL, looks like you have done some major body work on the front end. Looks good. I also like those particular Vettes with the flat back window. I'm not to crazy about the ones with the wrap around rear window. When did those start, 77,79?

What are you running for an engine? A friend of mine bought a 68 Stingray Convertible with a 427 and a 4 gear. It was a sweet car.

Stallion, it's a '72 Gran Torino Sport. The motor in it now is a '71 429 .030 over with a heavily built up C6 Transmission. Not a whole lot done to the motor. 125 Horse NOS kit and Edlebrock Perfomer manifold and crank because the engine couldn't handle the rpm's for a torker. Kind of interesting the engine has 10:1 compression but as long as I run a water injector I can run standard gas. :)

Couple pictures are here

On a side note, the original engine was a 351 Cleveland with a race prepped Borg Warner 4 Speed. Still have those sitting in a garage. Want to get one of those rolling chassis Cobra Kits for them. I have the spec's somewhere to build an external oiling system for the Cleveland that will give the ability for a 10,000 rpm redline. Even if you don't like Fords, you have to admit a street big block cranking 10,000 would be something to see and hear =D

Nice car. 429, that must be quite a ride. :) I have a friend with a truck that has a 427 SCJ engine and that thing hauls even with 38 inch tall tires. So I can imagine what a BB Ford would be like in a car. I have read that the 351 has bad oiling. So the external oiling sounds like the way to go. 10,000RPMs would be something to hear. does the 351 have the 4 barrel heads? Those were some huge ports on them things, i think you could almost get a small dog stuck in there. I would love to try the bottle some day but first I'm trying to get the wife to let me buy some of the new aluminum heads that Edelbrock makes. Maybe why we get our income tax back I can convince her. ;)

On a side note, I see your from St Louis. The wife was just there this last week for some work meetings at the Boeing conference center. She said it was beautiful and nice and Sunny. :) She didn't have any time to go see the Cards whip the Braves though, but she got to go thru the F/A-18 Hornett facility.

It goes pretty good, but the car does weigh 4300 pounds so that kind of drags it down a little. :) Yes, the 351 I have does have the 4 barrel heads and the ports are quite massive. Only downside is that it does not have 4 bolt mains. :(

It was pretty nice, except for the day, I went to the second game, then it was cold and rainy, but for some reason I really didn't care ;)

Its got a bored out 350 V8 with lots of mods. It gave out ~375HP at the rear wheels last time it was on the dyno.
