RC51 is a 1000 CC V TWIN bike..
No way in freaking hell did a stock V twin go this fast on any planet..

the guy in question is a regular at the www.sportbikes.net messageboard..
he has stated over and over again the bike is 100% stock except a slip on exhaust pipe for sound only...
the top end of a stock RC51 is around 157-165 mph... depending on altitude and other conditions...

The CBR1000RR woulda had a better shot at this ticket but still not that close.. 187-190 but not 205..

I'd like to see where you saw he said it was stock. The article clearly stated the kid used to work in a Motorcycle shop, that would reasonably lead to parts access and modification of the bike.

I had a modified 1000 and was able to top out close to 170 so I don't think the 200+ is a stretch at all.

www.sportbikes.net
he lives on there
they have a huge thread there

its a major shens ...
GSXR1000
ZX10
YZFR1
and CBR1000RR
all have way more horsepower and a better inline4 engine as well as being alot lighter.. they are the top speed queens right now all making about 165hp stock..

I worked for a bike shop too for 3 years doesnt mean my bike ( still faster than a POS RC51) will do 205...
my bike making 145hp which is 25 hp over a stock CBR929RR in 2001 will not even break 180...
and I leave modified RC51s in the dust...
the cop screwed up bottom line..

go check out the thread over there.

205 MPH = 300.67 feet per second.

1/4 Mile = 1320 feet.

It takes him 4.4 seconds to go through that distance, which means even if he was off by 0.5 seconds, he would be traveling 186 mph.

Cops are accurate to within 0.05 seconds.

If you can't handle simple critisim (written in the form of a joke - that obviously you missed), then YOU need to reexamine yourself. There is no need to attempt personal attacks that are clearly misguided.

You know you are acting like a tool, right?

By putting in a few jokes. If that is a tool, then I'm a tool. And ironcrotch, your cookie was quite good. Was it baked in a cast ironcrotch oven?

Jokes are meant to be entertaining. However, none of your statements were entertaining at all. You are not funny nor insightful. The only thing funny about this thread is that you think you made some creative joke.

Well I got one laugh out of one person with my links, "Tooo funny!!!". At least one person in the world shares my sense of humor. From now on I'll be one of the thousands of people just posting:

R

and back out of the thread forever. I'll stop being creative on my first post. I'll blindly follow the masses and make a bunch of threads without a single word of input. I'll complain about others in an online forum since they don't agree with me. Thanks bubbles for setting me straight.

Has this thread been hijacked enough yet?

No way.
I doubt they make errors of .5 seconds, that's a lot of time..
but .05 is a little too pretty precise..
I teach a physics lab.. rarely do I have any students capable of consistently measuring within 5 hundredths of a second using a stopwatch. Especially for really short times like 4 or 5 seconds.
