I am p*ssed!!!

Some punk got a hold of my credit card number and address and is using it for online porn and shopping. I've reported the theft to the credit card company, so the fraudulent charges will be dropped. Here's the good part--One of the online vendors gave me the loser's name and address, but no phone number. What painful revenge shall I extract? Should I call the police in his city?

I was one of the lucky 1500 cardholder out of an available 7,000,000 that were stolen from onsale/egghead last year.

Luckily for me, my card was new and I hadn't activated it yet. My CC Company called me up and told me that my card had been compromised.

I've had my # compromised (not stolen) at least once and actually stolen and used once. Some guy in Thailand (gee I wonder if this is fraud) ordered a bunch of DVDs and stuff. In my case, I think some online CD place was hacked, but most Porn sites on line are ripe targets for hackers to get into and steal credit card information....

Yeah, had my CC# stolen in the egghead hacking incident too. Some guy charged $1800 worth of software in England and had it shipped to the Netherlands. The CC company(GMcard) caught it, put a hold on the account, and called me. So, no real damage was done.

Good luck catching them. Knew a guy around here who got busted for it years ago. He would have it shipped to some house where the people weren't there during the day. I don't recall exactly how he got caught but I think someone saw him there a lot and got suspicious.

Let's see, you post the name and address here, and on every other techie forum you can think of, or just call the police/fbi. I am sure he will get his in the end. (Take that however you want.)

I can't post his name and address--might tip him off if I decide to call the cops on him. Lets just say he lives in Carmel, NY.

BigD480--That is one funny site! :D Is it for real? I might use it for other people, but is sending dogshiit through the mail legal?

that site's been around for at least a year or something so I imagine it is legal... quite funny... i've pondered doing it myself but would rather spend money on me...

Russ is probably right. Unless it's some idiot script kiddie who got lucky getting your number, they're not using their address. It's either an abandoned house, mail drop, or something similar.
