Had this happen to a friend of mine. On the way to the autobody shop (admittedly a week later) he got pulled over by a cop about the mirror, and was given a ticket for it. He asked the cop how the fsck he was supposed to get it to the autobody shop to fix the mirror if he wasn't allowed to drive the car? The cop just shrugged and gave him his ticket. What an ass . . .

Not even. My dad's truck doesn't have a passenger side mirror nor did my car up until 4 years ago. I think the Camry is first car we've had that has a passenger side mirror. Never been given one bit of grief about it. You only need it if you don't have a rear-view mirror. I'd go fight that ticket.

If it's any consolation our 2003 Maxima SE is in the body shop right now for $1700 worth of damage to the driver's side doors because some idiot in a raised truck didn't see my wife as he backed his truck into the side of our car.

Sounds like my friend's bad luck. He was parked in my high school's parking lot, and the busses made a sharp left turn to get to where they dropped people off. Well, he was parked right next to where the bus turned, and the back bumper of his car got partially torn off by a bus that didn't make its turn quite wide enough. Thankfully his car was a beater as it was, but he was pissed.

Unless he has a 2003 and he swapped with out his clears for smoked tails from a 2000-2002 SE (and rims), his model year did not have a 6 speed gearbox so I don't know what you're ranting about.
