Seeing that everybody seems to just looo-oo-VE the new Apple computers, notebooks etc..
me and a friend decided to roam into the new Apple store. Note I have never been into one and
I have never touched an iBook, iPod...etc.

Conclusion: THeir products are retarded...sure the interface is clean, u can tell their trying to achieve
that not only in their OS, but also externally, the design overall is cleanliness, uncluttered. BUT, there should be a limit...geez i mean you know what i felt like using their lappy?...a six year old using a Leapfrog/Leappad. All dumbed down, no harm done kind of interface, yuppie-like. .."i'm stupid,..stupid."
Sure Windows has been moving towards a cleaner interface(XP) and user-friendly style but it still gives you all the backend tools, and ability to turn it back to a raw product. With the iBook, i felt stupid, snobby, powerless, retarded.

Their current ibooks and powerbooks have serious design flaws causing catastrophic hardware failure, warps, cracks... I was once a mac user, and then that good old cost/benefit ratio came back to haunt me. oh yeah, and that whole G4, Radeon Classic, SDRAM vs P4, Radeon 9800, Dual DDR for 1/4th the price sorta helped

It definitley wouldnt hurt you to learn more about them though... when they arent getting spinning beach balls of death, they are very very stable and their built in serving abilities are pretty cool... not to mention that macs dont have to be reformatted every 3 months to stay up to speed...

I'd rather somebody feel comfortable with using technology on their own terms (even using an iBook) than have that same person resent and hate technology.

It wasn't right for you. If it isn't right for anyone, market forces will take care of it.

Got a link to back that up? I know A LOT of powerbook and ibook users and not one of them has had a problem.

There's this feature that's kinda new called word wrap... you don't have to hit Enter or Return at the end of each line anymore! :D

I've had my Powerbook G4 for almost 2 years now without any hardware problems. People that warp and crack the cases on their Powerbooks or iBooks would most likely do the same to any Windows laptop... I highly doubt it's Apple-specific.

This thread is pointless. Inaccessible? That's because YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO USE OSX moron. Go back to AOL with your "doncha, gimme, coz".

Unix is for old people. Really OLD people.

I know, because I used in the 1980's (and I have vi and grep on my Windows PC, shhh!).

ok, i agree too, it IS me, like i said i have zero experience with the new Macs...i did use the older
versions and somehow the new ones seem even more retarded.

I'm just stating my experience, i come from a unix/linux/MS camp, and looking and playing with the new Mac just feels and reminds me of Leappad.
