G14 I haven't read that article and it might be right. But the fact is that many people (including myself) see a perfomance increase when using the "Standard PC" mode. And often it solves some stability issues, especially with VIA boards and SB-lives. IMHO even if the IRQ 11 is high priority, having all of the devices there would result in a performance hit.
phlashphire It's beginning to get a bit strange... A solution might be to get a hold of the NT/APM drivers from someone else and install them that way. I'll see if I can get a hold of the seperate drivers (that might be hard

)Else the only option I see is a reinstall and that would be sad as this is a slighter problem.
BTW: Here is my IRQ numbers in W2K (Standard PC mode)
IRQ Number Device
1 Easy Internet Keyboard
3 Communications Port (COM2)
4 Communications Port (COM1)
5 Creative SB Live! Basic (WDM)
6 Standard floppy disk controller
8 System CMOS/real time clock
9 VIA USB Universal Host Controller
9 VIA USB Universal Host Controller
10 Realtek RTL8029(AS)-based PCI Ethernet Adapter
10 Mass Storage Controller
11 NVIDIA GeForce2 GTS/GeForce2 Pro
12 Other Logitech Mouse PS/2
13 Numeric data processor
14 VIA BM Ultra DMA Channel
15 VIA BM Ultra DMA Channel
As you see I haven't got a lot of devices in my puter... I'd might put that NIC on my IRQ 2 (Controlling itself is great
