Ok, if you have a private network with a limited amount of public IPs, can you give your computers any IP you want? as long as when you go outside the network you only use the public IPs?

I know that 10.10*.* and 192.168.*.* are usually used for private networks, however can I use different IPs than those?

Thanks,

This would be better asked in the Networking forum, but here is the deal:

Technically you can use any IP you want, but there will be a high probability of IP conflicts or some other error of the such.

The best thing to do in a situation like yours would be to get a router or some other device to use the IP you have and run the rest as a network using the 10.x.x.x, 192.168.x.x, or 172.16.x.x
