If you are going to get a Kabylake, I highly recommend an i7 instead of an i5. 4c/4t is starting to lag behind in some games.

Core i7 despite of 4c-8t, is very very costly here. Sometimes 50% more than Core i5.

Update

I have picked the following configuration for upgrade as these components are available here. This is costing me around $ 400 after selling my existing hardware.
  1. Intel Core i5 7500.
  2. Gigabyte GA-B150M-D3H
  3. Kingston HyperX 2 x 8 GB DDR4 2133 MHz
I will reuse my existing components. You can check the full PC build here https://pcpartpicker.com/list/FcNpFd

Now, depending on how good Ryzen is, I will either get Kaby Lake or Ryzen as soon as Ryzen is available here.

Bummer about i7 prices. Is 16GB of RAM that much more expensive than 8GB? 8GB doesn't go very far anymore.

I am going to market to tomorrow. Core i5 7500 PC is under my budget right now if I buy on EMI but for that I also need to sell old hardware and get new hardware with good deals.

Boys, the following was purchased today.

Intel Core i5 7500.
Gigabyte B150M - D3H DDR4
2 x 8 GB G Skill DR42400

This cost me $485. I was able to sell my old CPU, Motherboard and RAM for $110. I reused all my old components such as cabinet, power supply etc.

My system upgrade is now complete. System is much silent compared to AMD system.

Good luck then! Let's face it, those old FX systems are long in the tooth anyway. You should enjoy the extra performance you get from Kabylake.

Quantum Break, DirectX 12 edition.

AMD FX 6300 + 8 GB RAM + AMD Radeon R9 270X 2 GB + Medium settings = 14 fps.
AMD FX 6300 + 8 GB RAM + AMD RX 470 8 GB + Medium Settings = 22 ~ 25 fps.
Core i5 7500 + 16 GB RAM + AMD RX 470 8 GB + Medium settings = 1080p @ 60fps.

I am thinking to use Radeon Chill feature to further reduce GPU usage as restrict it to 45 fps only. That is enough for Quantum Break which you play while walking slowly.
