Hi.
I'm having this problem, Audio stops playing after about 30 mins on WinXP, usually happens when playing video file. i'm using Thunderbird 1.13, ECS K7S5A, and Aureal Vortex (AU8820) sound card. I don't experience this on Win98 (I'm dual booting). Any suggestion to fix this?
btw, i read about similar problem on AU8830 card on win2K/XP and there's also a solution for it using WPCREDIT. I've tried this but it does not fix my problem (since I got a ifferent card?). Btw, it said that this only happens on VIA mboards, but K7S5A is using SiS chipset.

Have you disabled onboard sound on your k75sa? I have that same sound card and it has been running fine on my 1GHz ECS K7VZA & XP.
 
Are you referring to this fix?

I'm using it on my system and it works great.

According to this discussion, it will work with Vortex1 (AU8820) chips as well.

Incidently, the problem isn't only with VIA chipsets.
