I have a bunch of audio recordings that I need to clean up and restructure, using Audacity. Unfortunately, I created some of them in M4a, for Apple, and Audacity can't open them for edit... I need to convert them to a WAV or MP3 file, first.
Is there a free, or open-source, converter... that is easy to use, that I can quickly convert these files?
For those of you familiar with audio files, is there a better format... WAV or MP3? These are audio books and such, not music.
ETA: I also use VLC media player... it's been a while since I've gotten into VLC, but am I able to use VLC to convert existing files?
Thanks!
