solved it!

i was wrong. someone pointed out that the unlocking he had done is actually right. but it's still a puzzle why the cpu's won't run. do you have to updated the bios of the a7m266-D to support 2100+?
 
i just checked asus' website. while the new 1005A a7m266-d bios does not indicate any support for the 2100+.
the new bios 1007 for the the a7m266 board (which is what my gaming rig uses - what can i say i luv the 760 chipset) adds support for the 2000+ and 2100+ XP's. i'm going to update the bios of both rigs and see what happens. i am hoping that i am completely wrong about this entire business.
 
its the one farthest the L5 sign. after updating the bios my gaming rig now reads each CPU not only that Hoda! wcpuid says it's MP. so i'm glad it works.
