Hi All

I live in a middle eastern country and let's just say we desparately need our own newegg. I am stuck with a limited selection of graphic cards for my new build (i5-2500k, Asus Z68 Pro, samsung 23" PX2370) and a budget of around $250.

I dont play games much but I would like my build to handle current and future games admirably (not looking for top of the line best performance as much as good, solid and stable performance)

So here is what I am stuck with locally (feel free to suggest cards outside of this list for international order):
EVGA nVidia GeForce GTX550 2GB DDR5 (02G-P3-1559-KR)
EVGA nVidia GeForce GTX560 Superclocked 1GB DDR5 (01G-P3-1463-KR) +4
EVGA nVidia GeForce GTX560 DS SSC 1GB DDR5 (01G-P3-1466-KR)

Your help is much appreciated. My current preference is the 1463 at the moment

Your preference is right. There is no reason to pay 20$ more for 50Mhz oc and don't even consider the 550Ti its pathetic.

Thanks. On top of that, there isnt that big of a difference in price between the 1463 and the 550Ti

For less than $250 you can get 560 Ti 448 or HD 7850. Both these cards are a lot faster than your selection and cost about $250 or less. In which country are you buying?

Can you tell the rates of other cards in that country? You should try to at least get a 560 Ti preferably 448 though. Anything less than that isn't very good, but at least 560 or 6870 or 6950 1gb. Don't buy 550 Ti.

Once you overclock this, it will be nearly twice the performance of a GTX 560. And always 50-100% faster. You will need a 30% overclock to be 100% faster. At stock it will be like 30-60% faster game dependent and sometimes just 20-30% faster at stock.

In nvidia terms once overclocked, it is on par or faster than a GTX 580 overclocked. At stock it trades blows with 560 Ti 448 or 570.

I am from Bahrain and using the following local sites to get prices:
http://www.advantionline.com/Graphic-Cards/
http://www.alwasat4pc.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=43_53&sort=p.price&order=ASC

Unfortunately, anything over the above listed cards goes into the $300+ territory (if you are wondering, the exchange rate is 1 BHD = $2.65)

International shipping costs if I buy from newegg/amazon is around $20

is the 560 1463-KR that bad?

Nope, the 560 card you listed is FINE for you. No need to spend more when you even said that you rarely play games, and even if you do, you'll have no problems with any game.

Yeah absolutely, very few gaming sessions, but I'd like to be able to have playable rates when I decide to play games

Looks like we have a winner in the 560 superclocked!

Thanks everyone :)
