I get 403 error on craigslist, if I go through proxy site it works fine. Since this started I have clean installed win 7 and reset factory defaults on router, still cannot access craigslist. Any idea what is going on?

Any thing craigslist gives 403 error. I use the cleveland ohio area, but trying to access any craigslist gives 403!

Maybe somebody on your same IP block did something bad and Craigslist has blocked a range of IPs.

What happens with a "ping cleveland.craigslist.org" command?

Sounds like they blocked your IP through a .htaccess file. 403 = access denied. It could also be caused by a .htaccess error like not specifying an index file and disabling directory listing but since it's only doing it for you, sounds like an IP block. Maybe someone on your ISP was spamming and they just blocked the whole range.

Im the only person that uses the internet here. Its my house and I have cable internet. I have posted things but havn't done any thing wrong.

If you have any neighbors that are friendly and using the same Internet provider, ask them what happens when they try that web page.

Lol, hate shaving my legs.

Man I have emailed them and done everything I can think of, I have had no response and no luck. My account is still good I just have to access it through a proxy site. WTF!!

I hooked straight to the modem and I can get through now. Its my router causing the block, WHY??

Is your external IP address the same as before now that you have your PC hooked directly to the Internet? You could check with with http://whatsmyip.org from both the router-based and direct-connections.

Regarding the router - some routers have the ability to block certain web sites. But you'd have to program that unless you have a high-end router/firewall that gets site block lists from the firewall maker.
