Ok - they solved it. Called the 1-800 number and they resolved the matter happily :)
----------------
Ok, took the family out for pizza. Had a coupon for 2 large pizzas (1 pizza could be anything, the other could be a 1 topping) , breadsticks, and drinks (up to 3) all for 21.99 plus tax.

Here was my order to the waitress:

1 large meatlover's
1 large cheese and for my extra topping - more cheese

We got the bill and it was for 23 somthing + tax. I told him that there was a mistake as the coupon said 21.99 plus tax. He said yea, they charged you for the cheese. I pointed out that all pizzas come with cheese, and I chose more cheese for the 1 topping - SOMETHING I'VE DONE MY ENTIRE LIFE.

No matter what - he could not seem to understand this and unfortuantly was the head person in charge.

I said "Look, if I ordered a pepporoni pizza would you have charged me the extra for the pepperoni?" No, he said.

I said "Would you have put cheese on the pepporoni pizza?"
He said, Yes.

I said, "Had I ordered just a cheese pizza - would you have put cheese on it?" he said yea.

Now - you already have cheese on the pizza NO MATTER WHAT - now for my 1 topping I asked for more cheese? Why are you charging me? A grunt and snort is all I got, and he said that is the bill and you need to pay it.

I would've put 21.99+tax down on the counter, zero tip, and tell him if he didn't like it to call the cops and you'd gladly explain how he was trying to screw you to them, as well as to the corporate office.

So wtf - should I raise a stink over this? Write some corporate somethings or what? It is just 2.00 but it is the principal of the thing.

Just pay the bill with exact change but leave them short whatever they charged for the extra topping. If you had the exact change that is.

My wife was with me and laid down just pay the man don't embaress me routine (this after I called them a bunch of rip off artists). I'm Irish, and tend to say what is on my mind much to the chagrin of my conservative wife.

Ha! Many years ago at a pizza hut, a half pepperoni / half cheese pizza was charged as a 2-topping pizza! And they wouldn't budge on that!

You said it yourself....**1 large cheese and for my extra topping - more cheese***

If you order extra coke/soda/breadstick/whatever, you would be expect to pay extra for it, would you?

More = extra charge....more cheese = cost more money. If you just order **exactly*** what it said on the coupon, then I would agree with you. I agree that the store was being "nicky picky" with you, but they are not totally wrong.

That's how I see it.

What you should have done was deny delivery. Or call them back and ask them for a refund. Or call credit card company.

Called the 1-800 number on the webpage. They assured me this was wrong, and they would mail me a free meal coupon for my hassle.

So, I'm satisfied.

What can I say, I'm bored. Yea, I get worked up easily. Especially when I go back and forth and someone can't see logic of something.
