2 systems
the house only has wireless internet on my floor

1 of the systems is connected via a USB wireless adapter
the other system has ethernet

i have a linksys wrt54g router available for use.

how can i leech the internet from system 1 to #2?

The best way, if the house will allow it, is to use the Linksys as a wireless access point. It will connect to the house network wirelessly and share that connection wired to your two computers. Either computer can be turned on or off at any time and should be able to access the Internet.

If that is not possible, have the one computer with the USB wireless adapter connect to the house network, then use Internet Connection Sharing on that computer to share the connection with the other computer either through a crossover cable or via LAN ports on the Linksys router. If you do this, make sure you turn DHCP off on the Linksys router. The main disadvantage of this method is that the computer with the USB adapter has to be turned on or the second PC won't be able to connect.
