Soltek SL-K890Pro-939 and AMD 3500 Overclocking?

Hello,

I recently built a PC that has a Soltek SL-K890Pro-939 and I put an AMD 3500+ processor and Zalmann heatsink fan in it. The only problem now is that I don't know how to overclock. I have the Award BIOS and it seems locked in on 200MHZ. Red Storm 2, which came with the mobo, doesn't work with my 939 chipset. How do I get rolling with overclocking?

Thanks

You need to enter the BIOS, go to "CPU Ratio/Voltage control", enable the Async PCIEX and Async PCI/AGP options and then change the CPU Clock.

Sorry, it's a K8T800 Pro, does that change things?

Does anyone have a standard recommended series of overclocking settings to use for this setup?

Well, it's very similar.

Under "Advanced chipset features" -> "LDT & PCI Bus Control" set the LDT Bus Frequency to 800MHz.

"CPU Ratio/Voltage control", enable Async AGP/PCI option and raise "CPU Clock" little by little.

Your RAM will run in sync with "CPU Clock" so you will be overclocking it too. You may want to use a divider for the memory (166MHz) under "Advanced Chipset features" -> "DRAM Configuration".

I tried to bump up the CPU clock but when I rebooted it went right back down to 200 MHz. Your thoughts?
