SolidPower Supply for a Core 2 Quad and a GTX260 C216

Hi, I have a Core 2 Quad Q6600, 4GB of RAM, a 320GB SATA 7200RPM HDD, a Gigabyte P45 Mobo and an Nvidia GTX260 Core 216 55nm Graphics card. I also plan to overclock and overvolt(nothing extreme) both the video card and CPU when I get the new power supply and if eVGA releases the overvolting utility for the card.

I was thinking about possibly getting this Corsair 550 Watt Power supply or this
610 Watt PC Power and Cooling or possibly this Corsair 650 Watt Power Supply

Do you guys have any other recommendations for solid power supplies for roughly $100 or less? By the way, am I gonna be able to hit at least 20% of the capacity of these power supplies when my computer is idle? Thanks in advance.

I would go with the Corsair 650w, it is made by seasonic and seems like a great choice for price / reliability. It is worth the extra $5 over the 550w, though I am not sure who makes that. I do know that the 750w is not made by Seasonic and is also a VX

It is basically a toss up with the PCP&P unit, though the Corsair does come in a little cheaper.

actually the 750 is a TX not a VX, although both the TX750 and VX550 are built on CWT's PSH platform.

PC Power and Cooling Silencer 610W is also Seasonic.

I'm very happy with my Corsair 650. My rig is similar to yours, actually a bit more power hungry, and the PSU is solid yet silent as a mouse under load.

For $75 after MIR, you really can't go wrong with that unit. Should hold you for a while if you're not planning on SLI/X-fire.

I've narrowed it down to possibly the PC Power and Cooling Silencer 610W and the Corsair 650W. I'm leaning towards the Corsair on the basis that it has a larger fan compared to the PC Power and Cooling PSU and should be quieter I assume.

edit: corrected a typo.

Good call.

I ended up buying the Corsair 650W. It's a lot quieter than I expected and it appears to be very well built. The only problem I have with it is that there's a faint high pitched ring that's being emitted from my computer. I'm hoping that goes away, but could this be a sign of something wrong with it?
