solid edge wont let me create a rib no matter what i do

im trying to place a web between a flat surface and a perpendicular protrusion that is a cylinder

the cylinder is protuded 30mm up from the flat surface i wanna put the web to.

like above only the verticle line is part of a cylinder and not flat surface....i wanna put a web between the top of the cylinder to the end of the flat

i used the rib command picked my points, set the width every thing then it jus says it cant do it

any help?
 
What version? I don't think you can Rib up against a rounded surface. You might have to do a protrusion off one of the surfaces, then cut out the part you don't want.

Oh, and WOW! I can't believe someone else is using Solid Edge. We use v16 here at work. I love this program.

Edit: Ok, I just did a Rib onto a rounded surface that is perpendicular to a flat surface. What error is it giving you?

Oh wait, you mean like this: This is a Rib to the edge, then a diagonal cutout to remove the extra stuff...
 
right i can create a protrusion a square one, then when i go to edit the profile to cut away the bit i dont want it tells me no material addition:the input given does not result in any material addition to the part
 
Hmmm... I don't see what you are trying to do. Where is the rib you are trying to cut away? When you do a cut away, you need to have a closed profile (connect all the lines and make sure the connects are red).
