OMG, I typed this post up and I got an error when I hit "reply." OK, here it is again:

Long story short, the side panel fan was a bit louder than the rest of the fans, so I swaped the front fan (the extra fan that I purchased with this case; seems to be higher quality, at least the cable is a mesh cable) and the side fan, and it's a lot quieter. I can't tell if it was the fan or the position of the fan or what because the side fan is now in the front, and the noise is insulated by the case...

You guys have a noisy side fan? I'm thinking of calling antec and replacing it.

Thanks

When she seemed like she wasn't going to give me the deal I told her "well I know lots of other people that have bought this and they didn't have any problems" and she said, "what people?"

What did you say for a response when she said: "What people?"? ;)

Bingo. Thanks. I got it for 128.06 shipped next day to Long Beach, CA.

Did you use the $30 off $150 code?

Update on this deal. EMSComputing has free ground shipping (today only) and the 1080B's price is $115.00. 115-(%10 difference)== $110.40 - (20 off 100 coupon) + free shipping means you get the case for $90.40 + tax shipped. Plus, there are no price match hassles due to emscomputing's free shipping.

Ordered mine today as well. The CS rep was giving me a hard time, she told me that she can't match to EMS since they ship ground but Staples uses 2nd day. She also gave me a hard time trying to use the coupon but agreed once i mentioned to her that it says so in the PM FAQ.
Anyway, i guess my older is on hold, until her manager approves it or something :(

Case + SmartFan + 32x cendyne = $107.47

Just ordered and pm'ed with emscomputing.com Used the free shipping from EMS and got it for $110 (CSR must have typed it in wrong) then added the smart fan (IM1106167) and the cendyne 32X(482877) (lite-on hopefully) - $40 coupon - cendyne rebate!

Deal:
+ Case: $110
+ CDR: $79.98
+ Fan: $7.49
- $40 coupon
- $50 cendyne rebate
Total: 107.47

Dudes, I just jumped on the emscomputing deal and bought another one of these cases. I'm going to return the case I purchased first (not really, but I'll use the receipt from the first purchase, and return the new case).

But this deal was too good to pass up because EMS wasn't charging shipping today (sure a little hassle returning the crap, but what the hell):

I purchased these items:

IM1123307 Antec PLUS 1080B Performance Plus Series Case $160.99
490207 Antec 80mm SmartFan Cooling Fan $15.98
486568 Philips 40X 80 Minute CDR Spindle, 100/Pack w/$20 Mail-in Rebate $29.94

Subtotal = $206.91

Subtotal $206.91
PM to EMS - $50.59 (110% difference)
30 off 150 - $30.00
---------------------
Total CHARGED = $126.32 + $10.42 = 136.74

Philips rebate - $20.00
Staples rebate - $20.00
----------------------------
GRAND TOTAL: $96.74 WITH TAX, FREE SHIPPING

So rchang, the CS didn't mistype, it's their 110% policy...which they didn't give me the first time around. Hmm...just thought of something...I BVG-ed the first case with Amex. I wonder how that will work out (only for $24.10).

Oh and rchang, according to my calculations, if you live in CA, then you actually paid $120.46 total after taxes and rebate.

You sound like you got the same hassle crap that I did. All of a sudden there was a knock at the door and there was my case. :)

HEHE we're all jumping all over these deals at Staples haha. I still haven't opened mine yet (remodeling the house and haven't gotten around to messing around with it yet) so I'm gonna order that this afternoon (I just found out about that at about 1AM..kinda late to call for me hehe). Hopefully I'll have an easy person on the phone to talk to and not someone that gives me a hard time like the other two times :frown:

reset, what in tarnations are you talking about? Neither EMS nor Staples is out of stock...maybe Staples is OOS for your area...hmm.

Chev, jump on the deal NOW because that free shipping at EMS will not last long, I'm afraid. Staples PMs to $115 and does not add shipping...in fact, they will charge you $110.00 because of their 110% policy.

Good luck.

my only problem with this deal is: what are the odds of a Phillips rebate coming back? I've never sent anything to someone other than Staples. So far Staples rebates are 100% return rate for me.

"You sound like you got the same hassle crap that I did. All of a sudden there was a knock at the door and there was my case."

I hope so, she said something like if the Staples Gods called me, this means that there is a problem and they can't process my order... so far, nobody called. I'm keeping my fingers crossed :)

So is anyone thinking of trying to mod this beauty ?

is the motherboard tray removable on this thing? or you have to put your mobo directly into the case?

I always get the cranky rep who won't let me PM or won't let me use the coupon with the PM or both! I'm just not assertive enough to talk them into it I guess. Nice case, excellent deal you guys. After I couldn't get in on this deal, I ordered one of the SX1080 antec clones in metalic green w/ 420watt Turbolink for $89 (came out to $114 w/ shipping and taxes) for Cyberpower (same one NewEgg charges about $30 more for). Not as good a deal as this, but not bad either considering I'm tired of black or beige cases. :) Really wish I coulda gotten it with an actual Antec power supply though.

Called and talked to a Robert. He said that they're out of stock and that many people have been calling for it (haha I wonder why).

Finally was able to add it to my cart online, so I called it in,
pricematched it to $115 and the shipping was free, added
a 20 off 100, total was $97.86 to my doorstep.

The power supply alone costs about 75$, nice deal.

Ordered another one today, first woman tried to call the site and it was closed so she put my order on hold. I called right back and spoke to a gentleman, explained the deal and he went to the website and eventually I got it for $103.08 delivered. That's over $30 cheaper than my first order although I got an extra fan with that one. No biggie, I'm sure I can find an 80mm fan for under $30 ;)
