Soldier lured in by ipad ad, killed by brothers

Sad. We had much the same thing happen locally last week, but the intended victim shot one attacker to death and badly wounded the other.
 
Scumbags. Hope they rot. Would never meet some people in a shitty neighborhood to pick up a Craigslist item. Would make them come to civilization, if at all.
 
Yea I heard about this yesterday. Very sad indeed... apparently he'd served for 12 years and had just had his first child, a son about a year before his death:

RIP Jim Vester. Really tragic that his son will grow up without a father now.

I will say that he probably should have been a bit more cautious about meeting people for a cheap iPad via Craigslist... not the smartest move, though certainly not something which should get you killed.
 
It's really too bad that modern criminals have not even the first semblance of understanding of technology. These murderers were caught because the police needed only to see who he had been texting and got their numbers. It's downright pathetic. If they had any level of knowledge about technology they would have realized they'd never get away with this and thus wouldn't have tried. Did they never watch a movie?

That little boy was a month old.

A vet and apparently loving father is gone forever because some lazy, defective boys just had to live that street life game. 'Earn' the money like a thug so they can be seen as thugs, worthy of respect. Fucking disgusting and horribly sad.

Time to start televising execution by chipper for shitheads who prey on people like that.

This is why people carry. You should be able to engage in normal commerce and travel without risking never being able to see your loved ones again.

Reminds me of some poor sap in SF who was selling a PS4 via Craigslist and was gunned down in front of his girl friend. When the guy who was going to allegedly purchase the PS4 produced a gun the victim told him he could take the PS4 so long as he didn't shoot him. Asshole shot the guy anyways but was later caught via a tracing back of the email messages he hand sent his victim to setup the meeting in a shady part of SF, i.e. Bayview district.

this is terrible, just terrible. the killers don't deserve out tax payers dollars keeping them alive in prison. terminate them.
 
Why would anyone buy an ipad on craigslist? If the price is too low then you know its a shady deal because they are a very marketable item and they maintain their value. So really you can only expect to save $100 off the retail price. But you can also find them new for $100 off... and you get a full warranty.

There is more than one kind of disgusting. There's the kind that disgust itself can do to the self. Pity the child whose morality was destroyed by cruelty or by being forced to wear a perverted moral straight jacket.
