soldering supplies...

anyone know a good source for soldering supplies?

mainly want lead free solder (suitable for electronics, wondering if non-silver ones exist, cuz silver = expensive), liquid flux for electronics applications... rosin paste is not very convenient...

If you're gonna be soldering small electronics you might want to get low melting point solder, Radio Shack sells 62/36/2 Silver bearing solder for like 5 bucks a spool.

yeah, you don't need flux paste and all that stuff if you get rosin core solder...

you can pick up a switchable 25/40W soldering iron W/ sponge, a small thing of tinning compound, a package of different tips, and a tube of solder for like 30$ at Radio Shack..

speaking of solder. is it really bad to use lead solder even if you take care to wash all contacted area? it doesn't go into the air does it?

Separate flux makes the job a lot easier.
