Wait a sec... does the # of items in stock dynamically update? It says 176 modules left. But what if this information is a few hours old and the modules are already sold?

I don't want to get fscked over like I did on the 128 MB module. Placed an order for the damn thing on Nov. 4th (said in stock) and finally canceled today because it was listed as "on order."

it might not work on your Dell...your dell is most likely using a motherboard with the BX chipset? some of the older boards wont read 256 chips...i could be wrong..in fact i probably am but just letting u know.

Any of the P3 BX Dell boards should be able to take 256 MB DIMMs.

I quote from my system manual XPST450 section 2-15:

"Memory can be installed to a maximum of 768 MB by installing combinations of 3.3 volt 32, 64, 128, and/or 256 MB dual in line memory modules..."

Check your user manual for details especially if you have a p2 bx board. Note: flashing to latest BIOS might solve the problem if there is one.

I wish you people would stop saving me money. My wife is going to kill me. Count me in for one. I've been looking to get memory for the system I'm building my mother. Now I can just give her one of my 128 Meggers, keep the other in my old system, and slap this 256 Meg in my new Duron 600 (@900+, hopefully).

just bought me a stick =D as of 1:45 PM PST, 212 sticks left ;) one question- can you mix/match pc100 and pc133 ram? and for those of you that are wondering, I just checked abit's website, and the BE-6 DOES support 256 meg sticks.. however it doesn't say that the BX-6 and the BH-6 do :( oh well I hope my ram comes soon =D I remember back home I used to order something from buy.com, and I'd get it within 2-3 days since they shipped it from Santa Ana... anybody know where they ship out from up in Northern California?

Aaaaa, I can just feel the love. This brings back warm memories of last year's wintertime. Emptying my pockets into ValueAmerica, Mercata, and to any other online merchant offering ridiculous, business model-crushing promotions.

Gonna love installing this DIMM into my machine, which will ultimately enable me to do things more quickly on my PC, and more efficiently find that next killer deal.

Best regards,
Floyd
